Talk:Hapless Mouse

From MHWiki

Best trap?

I see that the tactical type of trap has been listed as the best choice for the Hapless, but I don't think it matters what type you use (well, physical vs. tactical, anyway; don't know about shadow) as none of my Hapless catches with a tactical trap have had the "Your weapon was especially bodacious" or whatever the message is. Here's a sample from a friend hunting in the Pinnacle Room trying to get the Ambush blueprints today with the ZLM:

4:59pm
I sounded the Hunter’s Horn.
I was successful in my hunt! I caught a 3 oz. Hapless mouse from the Pinnacle Chamber worth 48 points and 73 gold.

I was successful in my hunt! I caught a 4 oz. Hapless mouse from the Pinnacle Chamber worth 47 points and 74 gold.

The mouse also dropped the following loot:
1 ambush trap blueprints.

No mention of efficacy one way or the other. I'd be glad to be proven wrong, but I think you could take out a Hapless with a stiff breeze, let alone a particular type of weapon. ;-) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 04:12, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Strangely enough...

1:02am tomorrow XXX sounded the Hunter’s Horn. I was successful in my hunt! I caught a 3 oz. Hapless mouse from the Dojo worth 48 points and 73 gold.

My weapon was very effective against this mouse.

I was using Ambush.

Very strange! I wonder what the difference is, given that both are Tactical traps? Bug in the software? Something about the traps? Only the devs know for sure, and they're pretty quiet around here.  :-) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 05:26, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
