Talk:Vampire Mouse

From MHWiki

Does anyone have any clue as to why the devs gave the Vampire mouse an Egyptian name?

More seriously though, with everyone talking about snagging Vamps in the Catacombs with the Ancient cheese, I'm curious if they're actually going to be dropping something else besides the "infrequent" GRBC Potions?

-- It's not Egyptian, it is based on Nosferatu which was the name of a German horror film based (unauthorized) on Stoker's Dracula. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosferatu --PChemMan 15:19, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Drops & Drop Frequency

Editors take note when adding further information about Vampire drops, especially if it is confirmed to drop greater RB potions in the Catacombs. We only have drop frequency for the Mousoleum. -- Grexx 12:56, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Vampire redboxing

I've seen on the forums people say that Vampire is the only mouse that can pillage more gold/points than it's worth... If it's true, can it be added to the trivia section where it's already mentioned how hard these mice are? -- Camomiletea 17:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Probably a myth. Don't have the figures on hand at the moment, but I've been redboxed before by lesser mice for more points and gold. It's basically a random roll, and I believe it is determined by the eventual difference in the roll between the mouse power and your trap power for the catch. The easiest way to disprove this is to wait for a White Mouse redbox in places like the Training Grounds or Harbour/Mountains etc. -- Grexx 10:55, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
During my original visits to the Mousoleum mice stole more than they were worth, however in more recent visits there this has only happened with the Vampire. All other mice have stolen between 2% and 100% of their value in points or gold. This could either be a result of my change in level / trap in later visits, or it could be a change to the way steals are calculated. -- Twentypence 12:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
True, the amount taken with each redbox could have been toned down, though I haven't really been paying attention much to them but more to the averages instead. Either way, not too urgent a task to prove or disprove, we can take our time :) Will take a while to confirm though, since there are redboxes in most locations. -- Grexx 13:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
