Theories and discussion should take place on the talk page.

Crafting is an integral part of MouseHunt, especially as players advance along the ranks. Once players advance from Novice to Apprentice, the crafting tab will be accessible to them. Crafting allows players to put together different items that they have collected throughout the game. The result of crafting can be traps, cheeses, and other crafting items.

Crafting Slots

Crafting slots are what allow you to create certain cheeses and other items. Each ingredient in a recipe requires the use of a slot. There are two types of slots: safe and red.

  • If you use the correct recipe, and place all the ingredients in safe slots, the crafting will always be successful. You will lose the ingredients used, but will gain the item you created.
  • If you use the correct recipe, and use the red slot, you stand the chance of losing all of your ingredients that you tried to use and not being successful in creating the new item.
  • If you use a non-functioning recipe regardless of the types of slots you used, you do not lose ingredients and do not gain a new item.

For every rank, hunters will have exactly 1 red slot. As you progress in rank, you will gain more safe slots for crafting, which allows you to craft items requiring more ingredients and helps avoid the risk of losing ingredients due to the use of a red slot.

Crafted Items

The table below shows what is possibly available for crafting at each rank. Total Slots includes both safe and red slots. Safe Crafting lists down all the items that can be crafted safely at that rank. Note that while some formulas only require 2 or 3 slots to craft, the ingredients are not available for lower ranks. Red Slot Crafting indicates that the item is available for crafting at the rank, but players run the risk of losing ingredients. Every rank will always be able to safely craft the items of the lower ranks. Therefore a Master will be able to craft items available to Journeymen and Apprentices.
