==== A Mountainous Welcome to new Hunters Awaits! ====
+
Tomorrow, on May 17, store-bought blueprints will be refunded, and General Stores will no longer stock these vintage crafting materials.
After working on improving his training methods and techniques in the Town of Gnawnia and Windmill, Larry has set his sights to the craggy peaks of the Mountains. For years he's helped new hunters become familiar with the mysterious charms that are littered within the snowy crags and the powers they hold. In doing so, he has figured out how to refine and refocus his methods so hunters can receive the best training they possibly can.

Striking a deal with Moustachio, Larry has convinced the researcher to offer the Charm Conduit at no cost. That's right, the Charm Conduit is now free and no longer requires any gold from the Hunter. In addition, the Mountain Charm Shoppe has seen changes in its inventory and pricing. Now the shoppe only offers Charmbits, Power Charms, and Prospector Charms, with both Power and Prospector Charms being sold at a lower price.

With the recent Shops Infrastructure Overhaul, Trapsmiths have become adept at constructing traps which once needed to be hand-crafted by MouseHunters!

Makes one wonder what Larry offered in exchange for such a generous reduction. Perhaps it was a lifetime supply of moustache wax!
+
As a result of this mass production of traps, the associated blueprints will soon vanish from hunters' inventories as the knowledge is passed on to Trapsmiths. Hunters looking to acquire one of these previously-crafted traps moving forward should seek out the appropriate Trapsmith to construct it.

==== The Mountain: Reshaped and Refined ====

Years and years of bombardment from the power of the charms used here have sculpted a much more refined Mountain than what may be familiar to veteran hunters. After constant rattling and explosions, it seems a deeper layer of power charms has been revealed. Most mice will now be carrying Power Charms and even Super Power Charms instead of Small Power Charms so hunters will be able to blast through Chedd-Ore faster than before.

Speaking of which, it seems as though it's not just Power Charms that have been rattled from deep within. The delicious Chedd-ore boulders have been seen in more abundance, allowing hunters to continue to mine them regardless of what cheese they have equipped. You can now mine Chedd-ore even while using Chedd-ore or Abominable Asiago!

Lastly, it seems as though the disruption has caused the mouse population itself to shift and adapt to the new environment. Mouse encounter pools have been split into different standard cheese types, so check your trap effectiveness to see if your cheese will attract the mice you're after. You may even encounter a familiar face, '''The Flying Mouse''', here in the Mountains. On top of that, mice strengths and their gold rewards have been adjusted. So, not only are mice a bit easier to catch, they're also more rewarding!

==== Relic Hunter Season 9 has begun! ====

The new Relic Hunter season brings with it exciting updates to Community Maps, important mobile interface improvements, changes to Elite and Slayer maps, and unique seasonal rewards.

So gather your relics, assemble your treasure hunting team, and prepare for adventure!

==== Community Map Listing Updates ====

You can now search, filter, and sort treasure maps by their name, number of mice caught, and number of hunters on the map on both the browser and mobile app.

There's also a handy menu link to go straight to the publicly listed Community Maps section.

Now it's even easier to find and join community maps of every shape and size!

==== Interface Improvements ====

===== Mobile Improvements =====

We've made even more mobile interface improvements from last year that will make mapping on mobile even smoother, more feature-rich, and more consistent with the browser experience.

These new additions to mobile are too numerous to list but here are some key changes:

*Navigation tabs have been added to make treasure mapping more seamless

*Caught mice are now grouped by the hunter who caught them

*Inviting friends to your map has helpful filtering and sorting improvements

==== Chrome Slayer Treasure Maps ====

Introducing for the first time: Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Chests!

These prestigious treasure chests are awarded upon completion of an Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Map, a challenge for only the bravest of hunters Archduke/Archduchess and above!

===== Slayer and Chrome Auras =====

When opening any Chrome Slayer Treasure Chest, both Chrome and Slayer auras are rewarded!

===== Chrome Slayer Scroll Case Exchange =====

Exchange your regular Slayer Scroll Case along with 2 Rare Map Dust and 100 Ancient Relics for a Chrome Slayer Scroll Case at the King's Cart.

Chrome Slayer Scroll Cases always open to reveal a map with difficulty that matches your hunter title.

==== Elite and Slayer Map Updates ====

Existing Elite treasure maps have been rebalanced to remove some unfair mice, add mice that were missing, and improve treasure chest rewards.

In addition to this, all Elite treasure chests (Slayer, Chrome Slayer, and Relic Hunter) now reward an additional item from a special exclusive reward list. Any Elite treasure map completed from this point forward will reward you with the improved treasure chest.

With Trapsmiths streamlining the trap making process, many materials sold in General Stores have become obsolete. These items will be removed from General Store shelves on May 17. Any such materials left in hunters' inventories will be tagged as Vintage. Those who don't want to keep these items as keepsakes may smash them with their Hunter's Hammer for a full refund at any time.
The magical hut in the Gloomy Greenwood is itching to leave, taking its cauldrons with it. It has places to be! Finish brewing your remaining ingredients with Reactive Reagent or cash them out in the shops and spend all of your Evil Extract before the hut leaves completely on...

==== The Magic of the Cauldrons is Coming to an End ====

The brave hunters of Gnawnia have been so successful in capturing Baba Gaga and her evil minions that they've managed to completely rid the Gloomy Greenwood of all its foul ingredients! Now that the wicked wood witch is on the run, the magic that keeps her cauldrons brewing is starting to fade away and her hut, along with her minions, will soon leave that dark and dreary forest.

There are '''two stages to the shutdown''' of the Boiling Cauldron event to help hunters to maximize their event rewards. The details of the two stages are outlined below.

==== November 2 to November 9, 2021 ====

<center>'''Brew as much Evil Extract as you can during this week!'''</center>

As of November 2, 2021, all the mice in the Gloomy Greenwood '''will no longer drop any ingredients including Mousedrake Root'''.

Any ingredients that you've already collected can still be brewed and '''everything else will remain unchanged'''.

==== November 9 to November 16, 2021 ====

<center>'''Spend all your Evil Extract before this week is over!'''</center>

As of November 9, 2021, the '''cauldrons will no longer brew while you hunt'''!

You can still use '''Reactive Reagent''' to finish brewing any ingredients you have left but the cauldrons will not work without it.

You can also choose to cancel your current brews and queues in order to get your ingredients back which you can spend in the Charm Shoppe or the Apothecary (General Store).

On November 16, 2021, the Gloomy Greenwood location will disappear! Any hunters still in the Greenwood will be escorted to the Town of Gnawnia by the King's Guards.

As a result of this mass production of traps, the associated blueprints will soon vanish from hunters' inventories as the knowledge is passed on to Trapsmiths. Hunters looking to acquire one of these previously-crafted traps moving forward should seek out the appropriate Trapsmith to construct it.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, May 17) at 3:00 PM (UTC) blueprint refunds will begin to be processed.

The following blueprints will be removed from hunters' inventories and refunds given:

  • Ancient Box Trap Blueprints (Refund: 158,175 gold)

LAST CHANCE to Collect These Vintaged Crafting Materials!

As of tomorrow (May 17) at 3:00 PM (UTC) the following crafting materials will no longer be sold in General Stores. However, they will NOT disappear from hunters' inventories. They can be smashed for a full gold refund as desired using the Hunter's Hammer:
