Halloween Is Here!
14

<blockquote>

A Terror at the Center of the Pumpkin Patch
The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, and everything is getting spookier! This can only mean one thing: Halloween is here, and the Haunted Terrortories are back!

This year, a terrifying new mouse has charged out of the Corn Maze, torn through the Haunted Manor, and made her home in the middle of the Pumpkin Patch. You'll have to carefully retrace her path in order to challenge her and take her most prized possession!

Gathering Spooky Supplies
To chase down this maniacal mouse, you're going to need both Candy Corn and Ghoulgonzola Cheese. Your friends can help you! Simply visit the profile of up to 10 of your friends, "Trick-or-Treat" while you're there, and get some free cheese. Make sure to visit your own profile and choose what type of cheese you're handing out!

Still doesn't feel like you have enough cheese? Just hunt using Swiss, Brie, Gouda, or SUPER|brie+ at the Haunted Terrortories to attract Hollowhead mice, which are known to drop both Candy Corn and Ghoulgonzola Cheese.

Tricking and Treating
Got your cheese? Good! Arm it and start capturing mice at the Haunted Terrortories. When you catch a mouse with Candy Corn, you'll treat that mouse, and when you catch a mouse with Ghoulgonzola, you'll trick them! Trick and treat enough mice and you can progress through the Terrortories. Move through the Corn Maze, the Haunted Manor, and the Pumpkin Patch, then catch both the Trick Mouse and Treat Mouse, and you'll have a shot at catching the new menace of the Haunted Terrortories!

A Very Charming Celebration
Looking for more of a challenge? Arm Spooky Charms and you'll start attracting more difficult mice that will require more powerful types of traps. Want an even harder challenge? Try arming Extra Spooky Charms! You'll need to be a Count/Countess to arm these charms, and you'll want a powerful Rift trap to catch the mice you attract! You can purchase both of these charms from the Charm Shoppe for a combination of Halloween Cheese and gold.

Two new challenges this year have been added for hunters of all ranks! If you encounter the Candy Cat Mouse while hunting, he'll drop a Candy Charm. Equip it to entice all mice to drop an extra Halloween Candy, and add a chance to catch the candy-laden Candy Goblin Mouse! Also, keep an eye out for the Tricky Witch! She'll drop a Shortcut Charm, which will give you a chance to zip ahead on your current track in the Terrortories. But watch out! There's also a small chance you'll fall back, too!

Halloween Treasure Maps and Crystal Library Assignments
Halloween treasure maps are making a comeback, and this year they're all-new to focus on the all-new mice! You'll have to capture the boss to get one, so get hunting!

There are also new quests available at the Crystal Library, with new and better rewards! Make sure to visit and pick the quest that's right for you!

Play the Spooky Shuffle!
Every day, you'll get two tickets to the Spooky Shuffle in your Daily Loyalty Chest. Click the spooky button in the Daily Loyalty Chest popup or the one on the Haunted Terrortories heads-up display to load up the Spooky Shuffle!

The goal is to match pairs of cards with spooky Halloween treats on them. When you do, you get to keep the rewards and try another match! When you miss, a Spooky Shuffle Ticket is consumed. Clear the full board for an extra special reward, and to reset it and start over again!

Keep an eye out for other ways to earn Spooky Shuffle Tickets. For example, have you Liked our Facebook page yet? Follow our Facebook updates for MouseHunt news and mysterious gifts from Larry. Whatever could be in them?

Another Perilous Rift Opens!
9

<blockquote>

A second rift has opened, and this time it menaces hunters in the Burroughs region!

The Burroughs Rift Opens
The connection between our realm and the realm of the rift is strengthening — sufficiently so that a new rift has formed in the upper floors of the Laboratory. Mice of immense strength and eerie familiarity have come pouring forth amidst tendrils of mysterious mist, and the help of the strongest hunters in the land is needed to defeat them!

Hunters of Duke/Duchess and above should answer the call, but be ready! These mice are some of the strongest ever encountered and will test your setup and your patience!

Be Prepared!
The mice you'll encounter in this rift are some of the most powerful ever seen and will require dedication and preparation to capture reliably. Before you head in, ask yourself:

* Do you have an appropriate trap? A Rift Power type trap?

* Do you have a powerful base? With the Rift Base, you can activate two-thirds of the Riftwalker Set bonus, which you'll definitely want to have!

* Do you have some powerful charms? The store here can help you out, and you'll need all the help you can get!

* What about String cheese? Are you fully stocked up?

If you find yourself lacking any of these qualities, fix it quickly or these mice will tear your trap apart! If you think you're ready, however, read on...

Venture Deep Into The Mist, But Not Too Deep!
A strange mist curls around the edges of this rift, and mouse-shaped shadows dance just out of sight. Clearly, the mist is the key to sorting out these new mice.

While you hunt with string cheese, you'll attract more powerful versions of Laboratory mice that drop Mist Canisters which are filled with a strange gas the mice clearly desire. Once you collect enough of them, you can start releasing them into the air and start attracting more powerful (and profitable) mice!

Every hunt you take while misting will release one mist into the air, to a maximum of twenty. Every hunt you take while not misting, will reduce the mist by one. There's an optimal level of mist you'll want to keep in the air, of course. Too little, and you'll only attract the weaker mice. Too much, and you'll attract huge bruisers that will ruin your day! Just enough, and you'll attract mice that reward you with gold and loot in excellent quantities.

Like with anything, try to keep it in the green!

New Types Of Mice
The moment you're in the mist, you'll notice new mice are attracted to your trap, spooky monsters reminiscent of the mice of the Mousoleum. These mice are harder and are worth more gold, but more importantly, they drop potions, which allow you to create Terre Ricotta cheese.

Stock up enough potions and craft this cheese, then equip it to attract Digby-esqe terrors that are worth scads of points and gold. These mice also drop potions, but these potions are used to craft the rare and dangerous Polluted Parmesan!

Polluted Parmesan is special. You know it, Larry knows it, and the toxic mice of the Rift know it. Specifically... The Menace of the Rift Mouse knows it. He craves it. But you'll have to brave the very highest levels of mist in order to attract him, and you'll have to battle past the bullies that hang around with him in order to catch him in order to capture the treasure he holds dear.

New Charms With Fantastic Power
Your reward for capturing the Menace Of The Rift Mouse is his powerful Null Gauntlet — a protective device that allows you to safely handle the awesome powers of the Rift, and equip the Rift Vacuum Charms that are available for sale in the Charm Shoppe.

These charms will become exceptionally important to you in your hunting career. As a Rift Charm, they allow you to complete your Riftwalker Set for the full bonus, getting a whopping +5 Luck. More importantly, they'll allow you to collect Calcified Rift Mist upon catching a rift mouse, which you'll need to craft all further Rift Charms.

In fact, the Charm Shoppe currently sells an Erupting Rift Core that you can combine with the Calcified Rift Mist to create a Rift Power Charm that grants an astounding 500 Power and 5% Power Bonus!

Use Your New Power Wisely
You'll need that Power Bonus, because your final goal in this rift is a doozie! Remember the bruisers you avoided before? Now you need to hunt them down! Every mouse exclusive to the dangerous levels of mist drops a piece of Rift Circuitry when captured, which you can combine with a smashed Crystal Tower trap to create one of two new Rift Power traps!

Multi-Crystal Laser: With 100 more Power than the Crystal Tower and 3 Luck, this trap is great for hunting the majority of rift mice. The Luck provided makes all the difference against lower-power mice, making this trap your first choice for general rift hunting.

Focused Crystal Laser: With 850 more power than the Crystal Tower, this is your boss-hunting trap. Big, tough mice will fall more easily than to the Multi-Crystal Laser, and the 5% Power Bonus from the Rift Power Charm increases this even more!

Strange Sighting at the Windmill
2

<blockquote>

In and amongst all the high-level Noble challenges that have presented themselves this year, it appears that a smaller threat has surfaced in one of the relatively safer hunting areas in the Kingdom. Although veteran hunters can easily dispatch this mouse, the King nevertheless takes any mouse threat seriously and is calling upon all hunters to track down this new breed! For newer hunters, this mouse presents the perfect opportunity to learn new hunting techniques while on their path to becoming a seasoned veteran.

Luring Captain Croissant
There is only one type of cheese capable of attracting a walking bread incarnate: Grilled Cheese. The perfect combination of gooey cheese and crispy bread is absolutely irresistible!

Unfortunately, a critical ingredient in the bread for the Grilled Cheese is flour which is quite difficult to obtain without a properly functioning Windmill. You'll need to recover Packets of Flour from the mice at the Windmill and exchange it at the Cheese Shoppe for pieces of Grilled Cheese. Capturing several mice each hour helps the Windmill operate more efficiently, increasing its flour production, and increasing the quantity and frequency of Packets of Flour loot drops!

If you leave the Windmill for too long, it will begin to slow down! Keep hunting until the breaded tyrant is caught to restore the Windmill to its former glory. Once you've captured the Captain Croissant Mouse, the Windmill will be able to operate at full efficiency, making flour easier to obtain.

Once you have your hands some ooey gooey Grilled Cheese, arm your trap with it to attract the Captain Croissant Mouse! Once captured, the Windmill will be back under the King's control!

Updated Treasure Maps
With the discovery of a new Indigenous breed of mouse, newly opened Treasure Map Scroll Cases may occasionally challenge a hunter to track down a Captain Croissant Mouse. If you're looking to hunt down a Captain Croissant while treasure hunting, keep an eye out for an Easy or Medium difficulty map which have a small chance to show the Captain Croissant Mouse. As always, Rare Map Dust will increase the rewards earned for completing a map!
