These partially blind little fellows find their way through the earth by feeling around, making them more susceptible to getting caught. The Digby development in the Burroughs aided their efforts to push past the Mountain into the Gnawnia region. Due to the dirt in their nostrils, they have a harder time sniffing out cheese.
Mouse ID#: 129

The Mole Mouse is a breed of mouse found in the Meadow, Windmill and Town of Digby. They are known to drop Marble cheese, and occasionally an Ancient Relic as loot, in all locations. They are also known to drop Plankrun's Journal Back Cover and the Shredded Furoma Map Piece in the Town of Digby.

Preferred Cheese

Mole mice have no specific preference for any kind of cheese.

Hunting Strategy

It is typically recommended that a hunter who wishes to find the elusive Mole should use White Cheddar cheese and hunt in the Meadow. Unlike the Town of Digby, this area is overrun with White, Grey, and Brown mice which are not attracted to White Cheddar cheese. The theory is that eliminating them as potential trap visitors will dramatically increase a hunter's chance of encountering a Mole mouse or, at the very least, another breed more valuable in terms of points and gold.

History and Trivia

  • Mole mice are a particularly uncommon type of mouse. Many people manage to capture most other kinds of mice before they go back and attempt to catch these mice.
  • Mole mice began dropping the Blue Argyle Egg as loot, in the Town of Digby on 16 April 2011, for the Spring Egg Hunt 2011 event.
  • Mole mice began dropping Ancient Relic as loot on 29 August 2012.
  • On 25 June 2013, they gained a vulnerability to Law power type traps, with the release of Varmint Valley.
