The Mountain is a location in the Gnawnia region requiring a minimum rank of Journeyman to enter. In the original release of MouseHunt on March 2008, it was the last location available to hunters. Mice in this location may steal points, gold, or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.

Overview
+
The Mountain is a location in the Gnawnia region requiring a minimum rank of Journeyman to enter.
+
Mice in the Mountain may steal points, gold, or cheese.
+
Hunters accessing the Mountain for the first time will only have access to Physical weapons, but the mice here have a weakness to all Power Types, except the Ninja Mouse which has a weakness only to Tactical and Physical weapons.
+

+
Introduction to Charms
+
Purchase a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe.
+
The Mountain contains the only Charm Shoppe where Hunters can purchase the Charm Conduit, which allows the arming of Charms.
+

+
Smashing boulders and Crafting cheese
+
Hunters will arm charms to smash boulders to obtain Chedd-Ore Cheese which when armed, attracts mice which drop ingredients for Abominable Asiago.
+

+
HUD (Heads Up Display)
+
The HUD reflects the HP of boulders. All boulders have 1,000 HP. The current Charm armed is also displayed, with the amount of damage said Charm deals. Damage dealt is equivalent to the Power of the armed Charm
+

+
The HUD tracks the following items:
+
*Hunter's inventory of Small Power Charms, Power Charms and Super Power Charms.
+
*Hunter's inventory of Brie, SB, Chedd-Ore Cheese and Abominable Asiago.
+
*Hunter's inventory of Faceted Sugar, Iced Curd and Magic Essence.
+

+
Hunters can directly arm or craft with any of the items tracked by the HUD.
+

+
Breaking Boulders
+
After purchasing a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe for 3,000 gold, hunters can start to arm charms and break boulders. Hunting with Standard Cheeses in the Mountain will attract mice that drop Small Power Charms. Additionally, Charm Shoppes, King's Cart, Marketplace, Gifts or Events all over the kingdom can yield charms.
+
All Charms can be armed after purchasing the Charm Conduit.
+

+
The main goal is to deal 1,000 damage to a boulder, which will yield a varying amount of Chedd-Ore Cheese.
+
Damage dealt is determined by the Power stat of the Charm armed. Don't hesitate to use higher tiered Charms should you have access to them for quicker progress. Arming a Charm with 1,000 or more power will instantly break the boulder, rewarding Chedd-Ore Cheese in a single hunt.
+

+
Crafting Abominable Asiago
+
After Breaking boulders, arm the looted Chedd-Ore Cheese to attract Slope Swimmer Mice, Craggy Ore Mice and Mountain Mice. These 3 mice drop Faceted Sugar and Iced Curds which are used to craft Abominable Asiago to attract the Abominable Snow Mouse

Hunting the Abominable Snow Mouse
+
After collecting sufficient Faceted Sugar and Iced Curds, use the Recipe Book to craft Abominable Asiago.
+
Arm Abominable Asiago, which exclusively attracts the Abominable Snow Mouse.
+
Doing so helps complete the Find the Hidden Mountain Pass Adventure Book entry and rewards hunters with a Laboratory Map Piece.
+

+
Mice
+
All mice in the Mountain, except the Ninja Mouse, are from the Indigenous Mice group and are weak to all Power Types.
+
The Ninja Mouse is one of the Followers of Furoma and Tactical traps are very effective against it. Physical traps are of normal effectiveness. All other Power Types are ineffective.
+

+
Cheese Preference and Loot
+
Standard Cheese attracts most mice in the Mountain.
+
White Cheddar Cheese will reduce the mouse population by repelling the Brown, Grey, and White mice.
+
SB will add the Black Widow, Fog, Frosty Snow, Pebble and Silvertail to the mouse population in the Mountain.
+
Chedd-Ore Cheese will attract the Craggy Ore,Mountain Mouse and Slope Swimmer mice.
+
Abominable Asiago will attract the Abominable Snow Mouse.
+
Prospector's Charms increase the attraction rate of Gold, Diamond, and (with SB armed) Silvertail mice.

Shops
Moustachio the Charmer's Charm Shoppe is located in the Mountain. Other shops for the Gnawnia region can be found in the Town of Gnawnia and Harbour. As such, hunters are advised to stock up on cheese before travelling here to avoid incurring unnecessary travelling costs.

History and Trivia
+
Mice with Special Requirements
* On 5 January 2010, the Frosty Snow and Frozen mice appeared in the Mountain for the first time.
+
*Relic Hunter Mouse – This mouse visits the Mountain on an irregular basis. It does not consume cheese or charms. Hunters must have an Ancient Relic in their inventory to attract this mouse. The Ancient Relic will be taken by the Relic Hunter Mouse in exchange for a Relic Hunter Scroll Case.
* On 30 June 2010, Fog, Pebble and Silvertail mice were introduced to the area.
+
*M400 – This mouse will sometimes be available in the Mountain when Hunters are actively working an M400 Hunting Research Assignment. It is attracted only to Fusion Fondue which will not attract any other mice. It drops a wide variety of loot.

Hunting Strategy
Hunting Strategy
Hunters have several Trap Setup Options for the Mountain. Using a low power trap could result in a net loss due to the thieving mice. Hunting with Prospector's Charms armed in this area will increase the attraction of Diamond and Gold mice when using standard cheese as bait. When used alongside SUPER|brie+ cheese, Prospector's Charms will also increase the attraction of Silvertail mice.
+
All mice in the Mountain are weak to all Power Types except the Ninja Mouse, which has a weakness only to Tactical, and Physical weapons.
+
Hunters who reach the Rank of Master will be able to travel to the Great Gnarled Tree, Laboratory, Mousoleum, and Town of Digby, provided they have the appropriate Maps and Keys.
+
Hunters will need to complete the Find the Hidden Mountain Pass adventure to be able to travel to the Laboratory and Toxic Spill locations. The Toxic Spill location also require Hunters to be ranked Hero or higher..
+

+
Adventure Book
+
Hunters will need to complete the Find the Hidden Mountain Pass adventure to find a Laboratory Map Piece.
+

+
Library Assignments
+
*M400 Bait Research Assignment - This assignment may require Hunters to track down specific items from Mountain mice in order to complete it.
+
*M400 Hunting Research Assignment - This assignment may require capturing the M400 in the Mountain.
+

+
Tournaments
+
Mountain mice are worth points during some Tournaments.
+

+
Treasure Maps
+
Many mice in the Mountain are often found on Gnawnia Treasure Maps and Relic Hunter Treasure Maps.

Collecting enough gold to purchase either the Mouse DeathBot or NVMRC Forcefield Trap will also improve the chances of catching mice not only in the Mountain, but in most locations in the Burroughs region as well. Note, however, that the Swiss Army Mouse Trap paired together with the Stone Base or Explosive Base will do adequately there as well and will save you gold for the future Shadow traps.

Hunters will need to obtain the Burroughs Laboratory Map Piece from a Ninja mouse and achieve Master rank before becoming eligible to travel to the Burroughs Region in the Kingdom of Gnawnia.

Welcome, Mousehunter! You're about to discover the stunning vistas and treacherous terrain of the glorious Gnawnian Mountain! Home to Moustachio the Charmer, he has come up with these clever trinkets called charms that you can use to bolster your trap in many different ways. Don't forget to visit the Charm Shoppe to pick up your very own Charm Conduit to be able to use these new charms.
*Hunters have reported that the first Ninja mouse encountered should hold the map, hence hunters might not want to stay at the mountain for too long as overall, the mice do not yield much gold.

As the Abominable Snow Mouse, Frozen, Frosty Snow and Pebble mouse can only be found in this location, hunters might want to stay in the location until they manage to capture one. Due to the rarity of these mice however, it would be a good idea to use traps such as the Mouse DeathBot or stronger to reduce the possibility of failing to catch one should it be attracted. It is also recommended that hunters use cheese with a high attraction rate to improve the chances of attracting one.
+
The Gold and Diamond mice found here are worth a handsome amount of gold and points. Extra income means that you may now be able to afford more expensive cheeses and more powerful traps. Don’t be afraid to head back to the Town of Gnawnia and upgrade your trap and cheese if you have problems attracting or catching mice. You’ve earned it!

Cheese Usage
Now, be careful while exploring the Mountain. Upon these rocky precipices lies excitement, danger and big boulders full of tasty Chedd-Ore Cheese deposits just waiting to be mined. Hunt mice in the area to gather up various types of Power Charms. Once equipped, the power released from the charms will vibrate the rock face and cause the boulders to crumble and shatter, revealing Chedd-Ore Cheese! Using this cheese will attract the harder-to-find mice which live within the Mountain itself. Capturing them will drop crafting items that can be used to lure out the large, mysterious Abominable Snow Mouse who lives high up on the Mountain! If you can find a way to capture him, he could lead you to the next prosperous area!
All standard cheese types can be used in this location. Hunters who wish to maximize their profits should use either Marble or Swiss. Alternatively, hunters can use Cheddar or White Cheddar and use a Base that has a high attraction bonus such as the Wooden Base with Target.

Hunters who wish to achieve Master rank quickly should use Brie or SUPER|brie+ cheese. These baits have better attraction rates, thus hunters should encounter more Ninja mice overall and improve their chances of getting the Map Piece.

Overview

The Mountain is a location in the Gnawnia region requiring a minimum rank of Journeyman to enter.
Mice in the Mountain may steal points, gold, or cheese.
Hunters accessing the Mountain for the first time will only have access to Physical weapons, but the mice here have a weakness to all Power Types, except the Ninja Mouse which has a weakness only to Tactical and Physical weapons.

Introduction to Charms

Purchase a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe. The Mountain contains the only Charm Shoppe where Hunters can purchase the Charm Conduit, which allows the arming of Charms.

Smashing boulders and Crafting cheese

Hunters will arm charms to smash boulders to obtain Chedd-Ore Cheese which when armed, attracts mice which drop ingredients for Abominable Asiago.

HUD (Heads Up Display)

The HUD reflects the HP of boulders. All boulders have 1,000 HP. The current Charm armed is also displayed, with the amount of damage said Charm deals. Damage dealt is equivalent to the Power of the armed Charm

The HUD tracks the following items:

Hunters can directly arm or craft with any of the items tracked by the HUD.

Breaking Boulders

After purchasing a Charm Conduit from the Mountain Charm Shoppe for 3,000 gold, hunters can start to arm charms and break boulders. Hunting with Standard Cheeses in the Mountain will attract mice that drop Small Power Charms. Additionally, Charm Shoppes, King's Cart, Marketplace, Gifts or Events all over the kingdom can yield charms. All Charms can be armed after purchasing the Charm Conduit.

The main goal is to deal 1,000 damage to a boulder, which will yield a varying amount of Chedd-Ore Cheese.

Crafting Abominable Asiago

After Breaking boulders, arm the looted Chedd-Ore Cheese to attract Slope Swimmer Mice, Craggy Ore Mice and Mountain Mice. These 3 mice drop Faceted Sugar and Iced Curds which are used to craft Abominable Asiago to attract the Abominable Snow Mouse

Doing so helps complete the Find the Hidden Mountain Pass Adventure Book entry and rewards hunters with a Laboratory Map Piece.

Mice

All mice in the Mountain, except the Ninja Mouse, are from the Indigenous Mice group and are weak to all Power Types.
The Ninja Mouse is one of the Followers of Furoma and Tactical traps are very effective against it. Physical traps are of normal effectiveness. All other Power Types are ineffective.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Standard Cheese attracts most mice in the Mountain.
White Cheddar Cheese will reduce the mouse population by repelling the Brown, Grey, and White mice.
SUPER|brie+ will add the Black Widow, Fog, Frosty Snow, Pebble and Silvertail to the mouse population in the Mountain.
Chedd-Ore Cheese will attract the Craggy Ore,Mountain Mouse and Slope Swimmer mice.
