Zugzwang's seasonal garden is the perfect destination for those who can't make up their mind about the weather. Every few days, the seasons shift, bringing with them a new crop of mice with different powers. Keep an eye out for the shards of an old key- they might provide the way into that mysterious locked tower.

Overview

The Seasonal Garden is a location in the Rodentia region requiring a minimum rank of Lord or Lady and Zugzwang's Scarf to enter. Zugzwang's Scarf can be obtained from a Dragon's Chest or as loot from Icewing.

The mice available in the Seasonal Garden are determined by the current season. Seasons change every 80 hours and the current season is reflected in the image shown on the Travel page.

The mice found during each season have a different primary Power Type as their weakness, but all mice found in the Seasonal Garden have some weakness to Tactical weapons.

Hunters wishing to enter Zugzwang's Tower must craft the Zugzwang's Tower Key using the four key shards found as loot in the Seasonal Garden.

Tower Amplifier

Catching mice in the Seasonal Garden charges the Hunter's Tower Amplifier. A fully charged Tower Amplifier is necessary for Hunters to have the best chance of capturing the most powerful mice found in Zugzwang's Tower. Hunters can travel to Zugzwang's Tower with an Amplifier that is not fully charge, but this will reduce the likelihood of catching the strongest mice found in that location.

Traveling out of the Seasonal Garden will not affect the Tower Amplifier's percentage. However, Hunters will lose all their Tower Amplifier charge if they leave Zugzwang's Tower.

Charging the Tower Amplifier

Hunters ranked Lord or Lady can charge their Amplifier to 150%.
Hunters ranked Baron or Baroness can charge their Amplifier to 160%.
Hunters ranked Count or Countess and above can charge their Amplifier to 175%.

Every catch of a mouse in the Seasonal Garden will charge the Hunter's Tower Amplifier from 1% to 6%, depending on the mouse captured.
Every Failure To Attract a mouse will reduce the charge of the Hunter's Tower Amplifier by 3%.
Failing to catch a mouse will have no effect on the Tower Amplifier's charge.

Seasonal Garden HUD

The Seasonal Garden Heads-Up Display shows the current season, the maximum charge available to the Hunter, and the current level of charge as both a percentage and as a status bar.

Mousing over the Tower Amplifier reveals the following message:

Your Tower Amplifier boosts your trap's power inside Zugzwang's Tower. Catching a mouse in the Garden raises the Amplifier's charge, while failing to attract lowers it.
Your amplifier will max out at [X]%.

Mousing over the current season reveals the following message:

The season and the types of mice you can catch in the garden change every few days, so be sure to check back often!

Seasonal Garden Mice

The mice found in the Seasonal Garden are all part of the Seasonal Soldiers group. All mice found here have some degree of weakness to Tactical weapons, but the season during which the mice are encountered determines the primary Power Type weakness.

Standard Cheese will attract all mice found in the Seasonal Garden, except the Spring Familiar and Fall Familiar which are only attracted to SUPER|brie+.

Hunting Strategy

Standard Cheese will attract all mice found in the Seasonal Garden, except the Spring Familiar and Fall Familiar, which are only attracted to SUPER|brie+.

Each season in the Seasonal Garden provides a different group of mice to capture, with different primary weaknesses.

Hunters ranked Lord or Lady can charge their Amplifier to 150%.
Hunters ranked Baron or Baroness can charge their Amplifier to 160%.
Hunters ranked Count or Countess and above can charge their Amplifier to 175%.

Hunters must craft the Zugzwang's Tower Key using the four key shards found as loot in the Seasonal Garden if they wish to enter Zugzwang's Tower.
Hunters should fully charge their Tower Amplifier if they wish to enter Zugzwang's Tower with enough charge power to capture the most challenging mice found there. Using Amplifier Charms, or the Limited Edition Chesla's Revenge Tactical weapon, increases the rate at which the Tower Amplifier is charged.

Hunting Tips by Larry

Welcome to the Seasonal Garden, MouseHunter!

I hope you brought a change of clothes with you, because the seasons around here shift every few days, bringing new weather, and new mice to trap.

If you're looking for a good general strategy, a tactical trap will perform well in any season. Most seasons also have another, secret weakness for Hunters to discover on their own, so experiment with different trap setups, and see what works. Be sure to keep an eye out for shards of the key to Zugzwang's Tower, as well- there's one shard hidden in every season.

As you catch mice in the garden, your Tower Amplifier will increase. Failing to attract mice in the garden will cause your Tower Amplifier to decrease.

When your amplifier is charged, it gives a power bonus to your trap when hunting in Zugzwang's Tower. When hunting in the tower your Tower Amplifier's charge will decrease until it runs out or you leave the tower. Make sure to get a full charge before going in, because if you leave the tower, your amplifier will reset to zero.
