Hunting Strategies

I traveled to the Harbour right after becoming an apprentice. I figured armed with a trebuchet and a stone base I'd do pretty well. I was robbed blind. The first mouse stole 33 pieces of my cheese. The second mouse stole 1200 gold. I didn't wait for a third mouse - I hightailed it back to the Town of Gnawnia. -Elliott

I found the harbour OK, though I put most of my gold into cheddar and hunted with marble, so large amounts of gold couldn't be stolen so quickly. I thought that the mountains, when I got there were MUCH more profitable. - Judy

I noticed on a couple of my friends' logs that the Bionic mice they caught in Harbour dropped a Brie Alchemy Potion. There is a note on this in the Mountain article, but none here. Camomiletea 06:53, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Sunken Ship

Has anyone made note of the sunken ship in the Harbour now? The ship used to be docked just out from the jetty. Is there a "noteworthy" section to be added to the page? --   austin 03:50, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

It's suspected that it has to do with the new area that was announced by Dev Bryan on the Boards to be released this week. =)) _____m. 13:55, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
I think it is pretty much confirmed now due to the fact that there is now a Hydro type trap Thomas5436 22:46, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Where is the official information on the Hydro type trap? It's not in any stores, and no info on the Nibbler, or other source that I can find. Is it just massive rumour mongering? -- austin 00:42, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
It's been added as a new Power Type in the help section of Trapsmiths, plus there's a new mice category called Hydro with about nine questions marks. Anyway, to speculate, I'm thinking the new area will be the actual Shipwreck, and it was sunk by a school of... Kraken Mice! :P Revengeance 02:48, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Cheese Usage

I disagree with the recommendation of not using Brie cheese due to the high cost. Hunters who are interested in gather points to move up the scoreboard (this happens even at low levels when competing with friends who started at the same time). Brie cheese can be the cheese of choice if you are intrested in points per hunt. See http://furoma.com/best_location.html -- Ralphminer 13:16, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Well in terms of overall progress, players will definitely slow themselves down if they use Brie at this stage since they'll be earning far less compared to their peers using Marble and Swiss. However I agree that the language is too firm with regards to this. But this brings up another issue that is currently outstanding, that is the Hunting Strategy and Trap Options duplicate each other somewhat, and what goes where needs to be resolved. The information needs to be harmonised so that they complement each other. Larry's tips also needs to be taken into account now, so that's 3 factors to consider. -- Grexx 14:55, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
