I think it's about time to merge all the various potion articles together under this potion page and convert the other pages into redirects. They're not offering information that differs greatly, and the advice section is more or less the same. Comments, and volunteers. If not I'll probably get to it in 2-4 weeks time :D -- [[User:Grexx|Grexx]] 18:27, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

: Good idea. Unless the pages are expanded upon, the potion pages are all very repetitive. We could perhaps make a table for all the potions (except for brie alchemy) for the conversion/drop locations, and a pros/cons of using Brie or SB+. Ok, I just thought of and came upon my own idea again (yes I forgot about it), so I'm bringing it up for one more round of discussions before implementing the consolidation. The tables might be streamlined a little, ie they'll be a little less colourful and take up less space. Haven't thought of a final layout yet, probably work on it as I go along unless someone has better suggestions. As per Thomas5436's suggestion, I will be looking at an overall table, other than for Brie Alchemy Potions. If there's a particular way anyone would like to suggest it look like, now is a good time. Drop rate text as given by the developers about a year ago will be removed since we don't have an actual scale to compare it with anyways.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a fun in-game description for [{{MHdomain}}/item.php?item_type=radioactive_blue_cheese_potion Radioactive Blue Cheese Potion].  But using Larry's Loot Lexicon for the remaining potions was a bit of a let-down; half the potions have no description at all, and of the remaining potions, the description just copies the first sentence of what was already in the wiki, except that the Ancient Potion has an in-game grammar mistake.  Here's hoping the developers improve the descriptions in a future update. -- [[User:Ericb|ericb]] 13:07, 24 September 2010 (UTC)

Sleeping Potion?

Uh...Since when was there a sleeping potion? Can I get a confirmation on this? 72.85.7.191 00:01, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Sleeping potion does not exist. --Dave Vanderburg 22:06, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Readiness Potion?

Is this a prank or is it really coming soon? In any case, should something that hasn't been implemented yet be on the Potion page? -- Grexx 11:59, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

The readiness potion was first announced during the master burglar event I think. In fine print. It was that event or the hunter reward weekend. One of the pictures had coming soon. AzureOwl 15:41, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Merging of potion articles

I think it's about time to merge all the various potion articles together under this potion page and convert the other pages into redirects. They're not offering information that differs greatly, and the advice section is more or less the same. Comments, and volunteers. If not I'll probably get to it in 2-4 weeks time :D -- Grexx 18:27, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Good idea. Unless the pages are expanded upon, the potion pages are all very repetitive. We could perhaps make a table for all the potions (except for brie alchemy) for the conversion/drop locations, and a pros/cons of using Brie or SB+. The brie alchemy potions would just have it's own section Thomas5436 21:48, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
We started out with the ones for Radioactive Blue and Brie, and the pages for Ancient and Gnarled are more or less copies of the RB article. Thinking on how to merge the Brie article in. The ones for RB, Ancient, and Gnarled all carry similar strategies, except maybe for Ancient with an additional note about stale cheese farming. -- Grexx 17:42, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

The layout will probably be along the lines of:

  1. Intro to all potions
  2. Explanation of conversion
  3. Potion tables (possibly split along regional lines, rather than alphabetical)
    1. Potion availability (loot drops, and implicit rank requirements)
  4. Suggested Strategies (might be renaming this)

On hold till someone else picks it up, or till I next remember this. No plans to work on this till at least June 2010. -- Grexx 16:45, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I'd like to switch the order slightly, since in some cases there may be more specific strategies for a particular potion or potion type --
  1. Intro to all potions
  2. Explanation of conversion
  3. General Suggested Strategies
  4. Potion tables (along regional lines?)
    1. In-game Descriptions (if applicable)
    2. Potion availability (loot drops, implicit rank requirements)
    3. Specific Suggested Strategies (if applicable)
  5. History and Trivia
  6. Images

Done with exception of the History and Trivia, because I haven't decided where it goes best yet (i.e. within the individual potions, or at the end for all the potions together). -- camomiletea 04:44, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Gauntlet Potions

I've made a start on the Gauntlet Potion Tier 2. However I think it would be more useful to have all the Gauntlet Potions as sections in the same article. I propose Gauntlet Potion as the name of that overall article. -- camomiletea 02:24, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

In-game Descriptions

I was pleasantly surprised to see a fun in-game description for Radioactive Blue Cheese Potion. -- ericb 13:07, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
