Is the page itself a bad place to post the crafting directions for it?  I just wanted to ask since it seems in my mind to be somewhat of a circular crafting recipe (smash Moon, Maki or SUPER|Brie+ to obtain 1 Magic Essence, then craft that 1 Magic Essence with 1 Salt and 1 Curds and Whey and you have a SUPER|Brie+)...thoughts? Attraction Clarifications

SUPER|brie+ is by far the best cheese to use in a variety of environments, not only in those found in Gnawnia. Its 99% attraction rate holds true for virtually all mice except those most often found in the Mousoleum (Ghost, Vampire, etc), as well as the obvious exceptions of the Furoma master mice. In addition to boosting attraction rate, SUPER|brie+ also slightly increases the odds of encountering many mice such as burglars, black widows, furoma students and prize mice. ~~Dave Vanderburg

Article title

Since we can't use "|" in article titles, should we move this to Super Brie so the title isn't incorrect? Both names are used in-game, and "Super Brie" seems to be more frequent. Just a thought. Revengeance 14:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Absolutely not. This is as close to correct (according to what you pay cold, hard cash for) as possible. Why make it much less correct by changing the caps, removing the +, etc.? Super Brie already redirects to this page, and whatever link is used should be piped to use the correct name anyway, so it makes little sense to change it. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 14:38, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
    • You know as well as I do how inconsistent the names of things can be. The Inventory says "Super Brie" yet its description says "SUPER|brie+", for one example. I'd just thought it would make more sense to correctly label the article by the simpler one of its two names instead of the one with a vertical bar, which has caused the title to be grammatically incorrect. Revengeance 12:19, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Grammatically incorrect? I don't get that comment. As for the inconsistency, yes, it's there and it's frustrating. However, "SUPER|brie+" is clearly the correct form and anything else, presented in-game or not, is a shorthand version. The bottom line, IMHO, is that we should strive to be as accurate as possible within the confines of technical limitations. Wiki software prevents the use of the pipe character in the article name, but that doesn't mean we should go whole-hog and change the official article name to something other than what was originally presented as the true, correct spelling of the cheese. Besides, what possible purpose could it serve? Change for the sake of change? As a nod to the inaccuracy in the page name, I added a note at the top of the page regarding the spelling of the page name, like Wikipedia does for articles that have a pipe character in the correct name (see this Wikipedia template and pages that link to it). Doesn't seem necessary to me, but it acknowledges and explains the issue to eliminate confusion and, I hope, can make this a non-issue. In a nutshell, I feel that changing the page name would not only be wrong in more ways than one, but it also would create a LOT of work changing all the pages that link to the current name and for absolutely ZERO gain. Because of various redirects and countless links throughout the site, no one will have trouble finding this page under the current, most correct name. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 14:48, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
        • Woah, you didn't have to make a mountain out of a molehill... "Grammatically incorrect" was referring to the replacement of the vertical bar with a space. It's inconsistent with MH. Just wondering, what makes SUPER|brie+ so "correct" in your mind when there's clearly two alternative names? Revengeance 18:20, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
          • I still fail to see how grammar is involved, but whatever. No mountain here; just trying to clearly explain my reasoning. What makes "SUP{ER|brie+" correct is that it's how it was originally introduced to the game by the developers. Period. The fact that that's how it appears over and over and over on the Donate page also helps. That it is occasionally spelled otherwise in-game is almost certainly due to either technical limitations (like here) or simple inattention to detail. What you still haven't addressed is why it should be changed, given that you say say either is correct and given that it would create an undue amount of work to change throughout the site. Utterly pointless, IMHO. Everyone's time would be far better spent cleaning up actual problems instead of creating new tasks that, functionally, accomplish nothing. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 18:37, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
            • Again, it was just a thought. There's no need to write a letter every time a point needs to be made, especially in response to such a small suggestion. It would be tedious and unnecessary, so I'm happy to drop this. Revengeance 04:19, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Description

There are a couple of different descriptions of this cheese. In addition to the one already in this article, there's:

  • "This cheese offers a 99% attraction rate for many of the mice in the game!. Crafty mice are unable to steal more than one piece of this cheese when hunting in dangerous environments!" also in the Cheese Shop, and
  • "This special, extra fragrant brie is only available as a gift to the supporters of MouseHunt. Due to the magical properties of SUPER|brie+, crafty mice are unable to steal multiple pieces of this precious cheese from hunters who hunt in dangerous environments. This cheese offers a 99% attraction rate for many of the mice in the game!" on the cheese inventory page.

I kind of like the fact that these two mention that mice can't steal more than 1 piece, and this is useful info... -- Camomiletea 16:00, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I noticed it also doesn't say much about the attraction rate. It would be nice if the article itself included the details posted above on this page by Dave. -- Camomiletea 16:10, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

From a brief read through of the article, it's better if the writeup was reworded around Dave's words since they're pretty clear. -- Grexx 16:31, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
