I think we should keep this page though possibly revert it back to the original page originally made by Dave. The page itself serves no more use other than a history to the development of the three new furoma locations. Also, we all love a little history of MH don't we? We're still trying to find out who Ronza is after all =p

*Since the articles for referenced locations are causing the same problem as crafted cheeses, I'm thinking we could use the same solution and just put them all into a single article. I've made an example in my sandbox after going through every location/loot/mouse description and only selecting the capitalized references. The exclusions include Ronza's homeland, Zugzwang's tower, the eastern island and the northern forest of Furoma. Revengeance 12:47, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I have been reading the wiki ever since I started playing, but finally decided a few days ago to start helping when I saw stuff that I thought needed to be done, so a steep learning curve (two days) later I make my first page by myself with the wonderful help of the templates. This is why I love this game, and specifically this wiki, I (the uber newbie wiki editor) see the new GB House trap info and do my best to get a new page up with all the proper info in real time. Being a newb though, and having to run out the door in the middle of my edits because the freezing weather made our pipes explode, I left my page in disarray. I am very thankful, and I am sure others are as well, that you have shown so much dedication to a consistent style and format. I look forward to you correcting my many mistakes in the future. --Niehusa 03:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

:We're glad to have you aboard and appreciate your helpful contributions! The great thing about a wiki is that errors -- made both by newbies and seasoned editors -- can easily be corrected and adjustments made. Sorry to hear about your burst pipes! No such disasters here (knock on wood) but it's been very cold (-8°F when I got up this morning) so I can sympathize. There are lots of editors here at least as dedicated as I am, and it's truly a group effort. Again, we're happy to have you as part of the group. Welcome aboard! If you have any questions or need assistance with editing, don't hesitate to ask myself or any of the other editors who have been around for a long time. (Hate to name names at the risk of leaving people out, but off the top of my head I know Grexx, Camomiletea and M. are frequently around and willing to help.) Regarding the Mice table under Cheat Sheet, wanted to check with you if this edit converting the columns back into one row was intended? Was just working on splitting it up when I suddenly recalled having done it before and went to check the history and noticed your edit on it. Curious about the rationale behind it, since the original idea was to make it easier to adjust for changes to mice locations. -- Grexx 19:22, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

::I'm of the opposite opinion and found the seemingly randomly broken-up rows to be confusing and extremely hard to edit. One row just makes good sense to me, but whatever. If having it split up makes it somehow easier for the majority to deal with, so be it.  A note describing exactly how it's split up would be greatly appreciated, however, as I could see no rhyme or reason to it and struggled greatly to make even simple changes. Counting across makes sense to me and should be easier for future editors, but again, whatever, :-) --<span style="border:2px ridge #aaf;background-color:#fff;padding:1px 8px;font:normal 10px Verdana,sans-serif;margin-left:-8px;"><span style="color:#358;">B.Rossow</span> · <span style="color:#35d;">talk</span></span> 20:18, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

:::Ah ok, they were actually split along regional lines as described under the talk page. It actually cuts down on the counting needed whenever a new location or mouse location is added, so rather than counting from the first column you can start at the exact region. I'll move the instructions to the top of the page and include in a quick note within the article itself so it's easier to follow :) -- Grexx 05:37, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

You reverted my move to the new prize mice category for the itunes mice, with reason it isnt an event mice and always available.
Based on the fact that Dave Vanderburg himself has said that switching traps/bases will not affect luck in catching mice (according to his revision history of Master of the Cheese Belt Mouse), would it be worth mentioning that in the FAQ? It's (unfortunately) a REALLY widely-held belief that changing traps will make it easier to catch things, and it might sway people against it if we mentioned it. --Kirbix 03:27, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

So are all the mice in this category (leprechaun, treasurer, snooty, high roller, mobster). They are all always available (not just events) but still have the tag "event". What is the point of having two identical categories but named different? Melky

:Because during the short time it was available years ago, it wasn't a special event mouse. The wiki is about providing accurate information, not making stuff up and revising history to just to reduce the number of categories.
That's good you're not afraid to tell me.  I am semi-fluent in Spanish though I have not needed to speak it in a long time so if there is someone who is more fluent, I will be glad to let him edit the pages and thanks for your comments.  I always enjoy them and even though I don't always agree with them at first I Always see your point after a while.--Justin.craig09 20:07, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

*Thanks for the quick reply!  Didn't mean anything personal -- acting more as a messenger as I'm FAR from fluent in Spanish (unless you need someone to count to ten -- then I'm your guy!) and wouldn't know if they were even close to correct or not. --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 20:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

**Its okay.  I didn't take any offense. I haven't used my Spanish in years and it has depleted quite a bit.  I may do a few edits here and there but I will make them few and far between.  Oh and by the way, are there any special projects you would like me to work on?  I will make sure I get them approved by you before I change anything big.--Justin.craig09 20:28, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

***I don't have anything specific in mind. I'm spending more time lately on a different wiki I'm getting off the ground (unrelated to MH).  Please don't think you need to get anything approved by me -- I'm no more in charge around here than you or anyone else except the developers who own the site.  I just happen to have strong opinions on how things should be done.  If you have something to work on, go for it!  If it's a big change, I'd suggest doing it in your sandbox and then posting a note on the relevant talk page for affected article(s) before making sweeping changes, but that's up to you.  Gotta run.... --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 20:51, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

This is the second time I've modified a page in order to improve it, and the second time I've had my changes rolled back so that you can post it again with some other changes of your own. Do you always modify a page after someone else has? Are you a control freak who always has to have the last word? If that's so, then just set up your own page and don't make it a wiki! *Dude, take a pill.  It wasn't your edits being targeted but the editor before you. I can't fix his errors without affecting yours. Madrocker keeps making messy edits and I keep cleaning them up. Had nothing to do with you. Regardless, you'd do well to note the message below the edit box: "Please note that all contributions to MHWiki may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors. If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly, then do not submit it here." Whatever the case, it has nothing to do with you and certainly nothing to do with control. Just a bit of advice: if you take edits personally, a wiki is not the place for you. If you care about getting credit for your work or having your name at the top of a page history, a wiki is not the place for you. Happy hunting! --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 15:35, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

**Just checked your contribution history to see how else I had wronged you. With regard to the article on the pages from Plankrun's journal, I moved the page to match what it's called in the game instead of a made-up title. Because I had to have the last word? No. Because it was incorrect and I fixed it. --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 15:41, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

*** It's not about credit, it's about not having everything I do invalidated as if I did something wrong. I couldn't care less if it was anonymous! My previous edit was changing the title of a page from "Pages", which was quite enigmatic, to "Plankrun's Pages", a clear improvement. But minutes later you change it telling me "They are NOT called Plankrun's Pages in-game!" Do you really think that is an appropriate tone to take? Was Plankrun's Pages not a thousand times better than just Pages? If it was so critical to have it exactly right, why didn't you do it before instead of waiting to jump all over the next person who tried to improve it? Editing is one thing, but this is something else entirely. I've made many changes to wikipedia and of course revisions are made on top of mine, but not once have I encountered something like this. Enjoy your little wiki.

****Yeesh. I can't quantify how much "better" your page name change was (10x? 100x? 1000x?), but I can tell you it was 100% incorrect. I changed it soon after your move because it showed up at the top of the Recent Changes page, which I check once in awhile to see what changes are being made. If I see something wrong, I fix it as quickly as possible. Would you have preferred I let it sit for 24 hours so I didn't tread on your toes? You're clearly taking it personally, so maybe it is time you take a break from editing; stress over a game is silly. And by the way, it's not my wiki. --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 16:06, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

*****You spend that much time poring over changes and making edits and it's not even your wiki? And you tell me I should take a break? You make me laugh!

******That much time? Takes a few seconds to look at the recent changes page and click the diff link to see what was changed. *sigh* --&nbsp;B.Rossow&nbsp;talkcontr 16:37, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Have something to say?

If you have something to say, please click here (or use the [+] tab at the top of the page between "edit" and "history") to add a new section in order to keep the page more organized (unless, of course, you're commenting on a topic already being discussed). Please also remember to sign your post by using the signature button at the top of the editing box (it's the second button from the right, between the red "no" circle and the horizontal line) or by typing --~~~~ at the end of your entry. Thanks!
