Have something to say?

If you have something to say, please click here (or use the [+] tab at the top of the page between "edit" and "history") to add a new section in order to keep the page more organized (unless, of course, you're commenting on a topic already being discussed).

Please also remember to sign your post by using the signature button at the top of the editing box (it's the second button from the right, between the red "no" circle and the horizontal line) or by typing --~~~~ at the end of your entry. Thanks!

Grammar

I'm not trying to be a stickler or anything...I respect the devs and this wiki. My first edit was to correct the grammar so that it *would not* reflect poorly on anyone. I realize the need to maintain the quote, but leaving the grammar as is without any note or correction reflects poorly on the wiki (IMO). I'll leave it alone, since you'll probably undo my changes again, but I don't think copying/pasting poor grammar is a great idea. You can delete this after you've read it.

Believe me, it bothers me, too. One of my degrees is in English education. While the poor grammar bugs the bejesus me, I'm firmly against revising a direct quote -- in this case, from one of the developers. I believe that here the best thing to do is simply leave it alone. Most people probably won't notice the error without it being pointed out with [sic] and those who do notice it will probably get over it. Drawing attention to the error only worsens the MH image, IMHO, much more so than does simply ignoring it for a few days. That brings me to the most important point: the announcement will soon be gone from the main page, replaced with whatever news item is subsequently posted by the developers. So while I'm generally in favor of correcting grammatical and other errors whenever possible, in this case it's a direct quote that mustn't be changed and calling it out with [sic] only serves to throw a spotlight on it. Hope that makes sense.  :-) (P.S. Don't forget to sign your comments on Talk pages!) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 20:35, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
sounds good, thanks for the reply--Soundstripe 20:58, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Work

Mainly advertisement designing for a couple of nightclubs. Just finished my studies last year, actually. Thinking of starting a little business with a friend. Yourself? :) Revengeance 07:11, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Regarding the Burroughs River Page

I think we should keep this page though possibly revert it back to the original page originally made by Dave. The page itself serves no more use other than a history to the development of the three new furoma locations. Also, we all love a little history of MH don't we? We're still trying to find out who Ronza is after all =p

  • Since the articles for referenced locations are causing the same problem as crafted cheeses, I'm thinking we could use the same solution and just put them all into a single article. I've made an example in my sandbox after going through every location/loot/mouse description and only selecting the capitalized references. The exclusions include Ronza's homeland, Zugzwang's tower, the eastern island and the northern forest of Furoma. Revengeance 12:47, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Crafted cheese

Brent, why did you undo the changes I made for the crafted cheese pages? --Robinm 23:57, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Because the crafted cheeses should stay together as was previously decided unless and until there's more than a couple lines of info about them. There's not enough individual info to merit a separate page for each. If you look at page histories before editing, there's much you can learn.  :-) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 00:00, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

An addition to the FAQ

Based on the fact that Dave Vanderburg himself has said that switching traps/bases will not affect luck in catching mice (according to his revision history of Master of the Cheese Belt Mouse), would it be worth mentioning that in the FAQ? It's (unfortunately) a REALLY widely-held belief that changing traps will make it easier to catch things, and it might sway people against it if we mentioned it. --Kirbix 03:27, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Go for it.  :-) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 07:37, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
    • I actually feel that information would better go in the myth pages (could go in the FAQ as well) along side the cheddar banking myth.AzureOwl 09:06, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Lycan

Bryan posted about catching Lycan's with cheddar being temporary. You were wrong in calling it a rumor, so I corrected it....but you edited it incorrectly. So I edited you again. And you turn around and edited it all over again incorrectly. You are not the Encyclopedia of MouseHunt and need to lay off the over edits. This is not your wiki. You have just come and acted in an overbearing and obnoxious way. Your language is atrocious, you violate MH ToS with your vulgarities and don't even get me started on your opinion of Christmas and how you put MH down for celebrating it. The wiki was bad enoough before, but you have come along and been a total dictaor with regards to how you edit it. Stop being so pompous and repeatedly posting that you have a degree in English, nobody cares what you have a degree in. Screenprint taken and email to Bryan will follow regarding your conduct. --Jjjk 07:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Jjjk

  • Language? Vulgarities? Excuse me? I think you have me confused with someone else. Please either point out my supposed vulgarity or retract your statement. If you can post a link showing where Bryan made this announcement, that's great. But unless wiki readers can be pointed to where has a dev has said it publicly, it's purely rumor. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 14:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Link -- that is the link. --AzureOwl 19:28, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
      • Thanks. That wasn't so hard, was it, Jjjk.  :-) -- B.Rossow talkcontr 19:33, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
