- 12 May 2015: Cavern Fungus was introduced with the release of Fungal Cavern.
- 12-16 June 2015: An extra Cavern Fungus was dropped as bonus loot for every mouse that normally carries it, during a Fungal Frenzy weekend event. The bonus showed up as a separate message in the Hunter's Journal:
- A bonus 1 Cavern Fungus has dropped!
