Hunter's Titles are an indicator of experience and seniority in MouseHunt. As a hunter performs his hunts, he becomes more experienced. A more experienced hunter gains access to new areas (though occasionally, they must collect the proper loot) and becomes more effective at hunting and at using potions. The ranks go as follows:
- Novice
- A Novice hunter only has access to the Town of Gnawnia and Meadow locations.
- Apprentice
- The Harbour becomes available to the Apprentice hunter.
- Journeyman
- Journeymen can hunt in the Mountain.
- Master
- Master is the first rank where hunters can hunt in the Laboratory, Town of Digby, and Mousoleum, assuming they have collected the proper loot. It is also the first ranking at which potions can be collected.
- Grandmaster
- There are no special locations available to Grandmaster hunters, but they use potions more effectively.
- Legendary
- Again, the primary benefit to being a Legendary hunter is the better use of potions.
- Hero
- This is currently the highest available rank. Only a select few Hunters hold it.
The method for calculating rank is based partially on accumulated points, partially on the frequency of hunts and the sounding of the horn, and partially on the type of mice caught. As such, every hunter will level up at a different time, which cannot be predicted.
