Cartographers are masters of patching damaged maps. Their rare skill takes a long time to learn and is often passed down from generation to generation. Although the hopes of finding routes to new hunting locations is exciting, the tedious nature of restoring maps makes hiring a cartographer rather expensive and time-consuming.

Hiring a Cartographer

Hunters will find they need special maps and keys to unlock new regions and adventures as they travel the kingdom. Occasionally, a Cartographer's skill is required to repair damaged maps or obtain rare keys. In order to enlist a Cartographer's help, a hunter must provide the item he or she wishes to have restored (dropped as loot) as well a payment in gold. Each map requires a certain length of time for the Cartographer to restore.

Travelling

While the cartographer is repairing your map, you cannot travel to that location if it is your only copy of that map. For example, while the cartographer is repairing your Shredded Furoma Map Piece, you cannot travel back to Furoma until you get it back. However, you can obtain yet another map while your current map is being repaired if you happen to catch a mouse that drops one. You will then be able to access the area.

Repair Progress

You can check how far a repair you have ordered has progressed by revisiting the Cartographer page in any location. You will only need to travel back to the appropriate Cartographer to collect your map once the repair is complete.
