| The long and winding road through the Folklore Forest has been wrought with perils both for the MouseHunters and the Mythweaver alike. But alas, all stories must eventually end and this one finds its climax here at the great precipice known as the Conclusion Cliffs.
Since his humble beginnings as a lowly Bookborn under the tutelage of Zurreal the Eternal, this aspirational adversary has sought to overthrow the King of Gnawnia and bring about the end of human supremacy. He used the transformative magic of the Folklore Forest to write himself multiple new identities, each with the goal of being the one that would finally defeat the MouseHunters and lead the mice to victory. First he attempted to rewrite history at the Table of Contents and then tried to write himself into all of Gnawnia's great folktales but he was stopped at every turn by the fearless, relentless hunters who pursued him. Now he has finally come to the end of his road at the top of the towering Conclusion Cliffs where the MouseHunters of Gnawnia have backed him into a corner. In his last ditch attempt to fight back, he has split himself into multiple versions based on the five main literary genres. Each version has assembled its own army of mice adapted from the most famous and infamous literary characters of their respective genres. This, the truest and most ultimate form of the Mythweaver, remains protected by the unimaginable power of the greatest genre of all: Fantasy! However, if the hunters can demonstrate their writing prowess by earning Notoriety in all of the main genres then they will prove their ability to write a Fantasy tale so great that the Mythweaver will be unable to resist the challenge. Only then will the MouseHunters finally be able to close the book on this sinister storyteller for good and seal him in a just conclusion for eternity. One loose end that the King's best scholars have been unable to decipher all this time is: how exactly did a meek and meager Bookborn amass profound, devastating, otherworldly power to the extent that it was capable of raising a massive, sprawling army and ravaging an entire region? There is some piece of this puzzle that has yet to be found. Perhaps some force, far greater and more mysterious still, that has played a pivotal role in this malevolent mouse's meteoric rise to power. | |||
