| Salt left over from the ocean water that formed the Iceberg combined with Icewing's powerful magic has resulted in this tiny, salty mouse. Penned up for the long trip towards Gnawnia, they are only allowed to roam free once the Iceberg has reached the shores, since their tiny salty feet could destabilize the ice underfoot with too much roaming. These mice are very rare, only appearing reliably after all the chests have been smashed and the Iceberg has reached Gnawnia's shores. Catching one of these mice will allow you to quickly finish off an invasion. | |||

The Living Salt Mouse is a breed of mouse found in the Iceberg. They are known to drop Hunting Research, Satchel of Gold, Sticky Charms, and Wax Charms as loot.
Preferred Cheese
Living Salt mice have no specific preference for any kind of cheese.
Hunting Strategy
The Living Salt Mouse is uncommon in the first four areas of the Iceberg (Treacherous Tunnels, Brutal Bulwark, Bombing Run, and the Mad Depths) before 425 hunts, but is abundant in the Hidden Depths, or throughout the Iceberg after 425 hunts are exhausted.
History and Trivia
- The Living Salt Mouse was released on 1 June 2012.
- On its original release, the Living Salt Mouse could only be encountered when a hunter had exhausted 425 hunts and not yet entered Icewing's Lair in the Iceberg. These requirements were relaxed to the current strategy on 18 June 2012 and the second paragraph of their description was also updated from the following, original paragraph:
- These mice will only appear after all the chests have been smashed and the Iceberg has reached Gnawnia's shores.
