Codex

Overview

Codex is the type of Special items that provide stat boosts and special effects to the Hunter's hunting. It includes but is not limited to:

• Power, Power Bonus, and Luck bonus
• The addition of certain mouse loot in certain conditions
• The effect boost for a set bonus

These items just need to be in the Hunter's inventory to have effect.

Codex of Valour	This book once housed a collection of pages with sections ascribed to the factions of the Valour Rift that have since been lost to the tower. Riftstalker Codex	A mysterious codex that provides complex instructions on how to properly assemble, tune and use Rift equipment. The wisdom contained in this book gives the owner access to the Riftstalker Set bonus, a stronger version of the Riftwalker Set, which provides twice the previous effectiveness! • 31 May 2017: Riftstalker Codex was introduced as the first Codex with the release of Bristle Woods Rift location.
• 9 October 2019: Codex of Valour and 8 codex pages were introduced as part of Valour Rift location.
• 10 August 2021: Empyrean Codex was introduced as part of the Empyrean Sky Palace update for Floating Islands location.
• 25 May 2022: Chrome Codex was introduced at the beginning of Ronza's 2022 visit.
• 20 February 2024: Codices got their own sub-page in inventory, separated from Equipment.
• 23 April 2024: Folklore Motif-Index Codices for Power Types - Arcane, Shadow, and Forgotten were introduced on the release of the School of Sorcery location.
• 18 June 2024: Regal Codex was introduced at the beginning of the 2024 King's Giveaway.
• 24 July 2024: Chrome Codex changed from providing a stats boost to chrome charms to providing a chance for Chrome and Rift Chrome charms to upgrade a tier when used.
• 13 August 2024: Folklore Motif-Index Codices for Power Types - Draconic and Physical were introduced on the release of the Draconic location.
