Calamity Carl is the owner of the toy shop obliterated by the Festive Comet during the Great Winter Hunt 2011. He asked for help from all hunters in meeting the Toy Drive goal.
In February 2013, he returned for the Year of the Dragon Festival, celebrating both the Chinese Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day. He offered Calamity Carl's Cozy Cruise as a sight-seeing trip for hunters to see various locations around the kingdom from the decks of the S.S. Snugglesworth. He again returned in 2014, adding a Sports Deck and another zone to his cruise, for the Year of the Horse Festival.
On 17 February 2015, Calamity Carl's Cruise set sail to visit 10 ports of call as the Kingdom celebrated Lunar New Year with the Year of the Sheep Festival.
History and Trivia
Calamity Carl was first mentioned in a news post on 2 December 2011, when his shop appeared on the Travel map but could not be reached. When the Festive Comet hit on 7 December 2011, players could finally travel to the location, and start the process of helping Carl rebuild toys from the parts scattered all over the kingdom of Gnawnia.
