==== A Mountainous Welcome to new Hunters Awaits! ====
Hunters throughout the Kingdom have been utilizing the powerful rocket booster technology invented by Ronza to reach new heights at the Floating Islands! The special supplies assembled by the King to jump start this exploration are beginning to wane and are nearly out of stock. Today is the final day to pick up the special Sky Palace Starter and Palace Crasher Bundles before they're gone.
+
After working on improving his training methods and techniques in the Town of Gnawnia and Windmill, Larry has set his sights to the craggy peaks of the Mountains. For years he's helped new hunters become familiar with the mysterious charms that are littered within the snowy crags and the powers they hold. In doing so, he has figured out how to refine and refocus his methods so hunters can receive the best training they possibly can.

Striking a deal with Moustachio, Larry has convinced the researcher to offer the Charm Conduit at no cost. That's right, the Charm Conduit is now free and no longer requires any gold from the Hunter. In addition, the Mountain Charm Shoppe has seen changes in its inventory and pricing. Now the shoppe only offers Charmbits, Power Charms, and Prospector Charms, with both Power and Prospector Charms being sold at a lower price.

==== Charting What's Ahead ====
+
==== The Mountain: Reshaped and Refined ====
With Rocket Booster technology enabling exploration of even higher altitudes, the Floating Islands Cartographer has been busy studying flight logs to understand the supply lines and logistics of the Empyrean Empire. Using this recognizance, the Cartographer is confident they'll be able to chart a new type of treasure map!
+
Years and years of bombardment from the power of the charms used here have sculpted a much more refined Mountain than what may be familiar to veteran hunters. After constant rattling and explosions, it seems a deeper layer of power charms has been revealed. Most mice will now be carrying Power Charms and even Super Power Charms instead of Small Power Charms so hunters will be able to blast through Chedd-Ore faster than before.

This new map will involve up to five hunters exploring Low Altitude Islands, High Altitude Islands, and the Sky Palace itself in search of clues. Tracking down all the clues will reveal the location of an especially valuable Treasure Chest, the rare version of which will always contain at least two Adorned Empyrean Jewels.
+
Speaking of which, it seems as though it's not just Power Charms that have been rattled from deep within. The delicious Chedd-ore boulders have been seen in more abundance, allowing hunters to continue to mine them regardless of what cheese they have equipped. You can now mine Chedd-ore even while using Chedd-ore or Abominable Asiago!

The tireless work of constructing Scroll Cases and charting maps requires Ancient Relics, Pirate Seals, and Empyrean Seals. Once the Cartographer's work is complete, hunters can expect to spend these resources in exchange for this new type of Scroll Case.
+
Lastly, it seems as though the disruption has caused the mouse population itself to shift and adapt to the new environment. Mouse encounter pools have been split into different standard cheese types, so check your trap effectiveness to see if your cheese will attract the mice you're after. You may even encounter a familiar face, '''The Flying Mouse''', here in the Mountains. On top of that, mice strengths and their gold rewards have been adjusted. So, not only are mice a bit easier to catch, they're also more rewarding!

==== Collapse the Empyrean Empire ====

==== Relic Hunter Season 9 has begun! ====
The secret has been revealed! Ronza has completed her research and has invented a means of utilizing Rocket Boosters to provide powerful vertical thrust to any dirigible! Hunters who have proven their mastery of flight by earning a High Altitude Flight License can now construct Rocket Boosters for their own dirigible to explore what lies above the High Altitude Islands of the Floating Islands.
+
The new Relic Hunter season brings with it exciting updates to Community Maps, important mobile interface improvements, changes to Elite and Slayer maps, and unique seasonal rewards.
 +

 +
So gather your relics, assemble your treasure hunting team, and prepare for adventure!
 +

 +
==== Community Map Listing Updates ====
 +
You can now search, filter, and sort treasure maps by their name, number of mice caught, and number of hunters on the map on both the browser and mobile app.
 +

 +
There's also a handy menu link to go straight to the publicly listed Community Maps section.
 +

 +
Now it's even easier to find and join community maps of every shape and size!
 +

 +
==== Interface Improvements ====
 +
===== Mobile Improvements =====
 +
We've made even more mobile interface improvements from last year that will make mapping on mobile even smoother, more feature-rich, and more consistent with the browser experience.

Have yet to earn your High Altitude Flight License? Make sure to visit the Cartographer at the Floating Islands where any qualified pilot can pick one up for a modest licensing fee.
+
These new additions to mobile are too numerous to list but here are some key changes:
 +
*Navigation tabs have been added to make treasure mapping more seamless
 +
*Caught mice are now grouped by the hunter who caught them
 +
*Inviting friends to your map has helpful filtering and sorting improvements

==== Building Rocket Boosters ====
+
==== Chrome Slayer Treasure Maps ====
Once you've proven a capable dirigible captain by fully exploring the Floating Islands, the Cartographer there will be able to issue you a High Altitude Flight License. This license will permit you to retrofit your airship with state-of-the-art Rocket Booster technology invented by Ronza herself! The schematics are relatively simple, only requiring a modest quantity of Sky Glass and Sky Ore to secure the boosters to the balloon. However, fueling the boosters is a more involved process.
+
Introducing for the first time: Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Chests!

The Empyrean Sky Palace lies far above even the highest altitude islands and generating enough lift to nearly leave the atmosphere is no small feat. To generate sufficient thrust, you'll need to safely collect and utilize Storm Cells as an energy source. These powerful and highly volatile cells can only be collected once you possess the Rocket Booster which provides a safe means of handling them. With the Rocket Booster upgrade built, you can find Storm Cells as loot drops from various mice who find them to be a valuable commodity to protect, plunder, and merchant.
+
These prestigious treasure chests are awarded upon completion of an Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Map, a challenge for only the bravest of hunters Archduke/Archduchess and above!

===== Slayer and Chrome Auras =====
'''Fifty Storm Cells are needed to make the journey to the Empyrean Sky Palace'''<br>
+
When opening any Chrome Slayer Treasure Chest, both Chrome and Slayer auras are rewarded!
Make sure to build the booster upgrade as soon as possible to start safely collecting this resource!
+

 +
===== Chrome Slayer Scroll Case Exchange =====
 +
Exchange your regular Slayer Scroll Case along with 2 Rare Map Dust and 100 Ancient Relics for a Chrome Slayer Scroll Case at the King's Cart.
 +

 +
Chrome Slayer Scroll Cases always open to reveal a map with difficulty that matches your hunter title.
 +

 +
==== Elite and Slayer Map Updates ====
 +
Existing Elite treasure maps have been rebalanced to remove some unfair mice, add mice that were missing, and improve treasure chest rewards.
 +

 +
In addition to this, all Elite treasure chests (Slayer, Chrome Slayer, and Relic Hunter) now reward an additional item from a special exclusive reward list. Any Elite treasure map completed from this point forward will reward you with the improved treasure chest.

==== The Magic of the Cauldrons is Coming to an End ====
 +
The brave hunters of Gnawnia have been so successful in capturing Baba Gaga and her evil minions that they've managed to completely rid the Gloomy Greenwood of all its foul ingredients! Now that the wicked wood witch is on the run, the magic that keeps her cauldrons brewing is starting to fade away and her hut, along with her minions, will soon leave that dark and dreary forest.
 +

 +
There are '''two stages to the shutdown''' of the Boiling Cauldron event to help hunters to maximize their event rewards. The details of the two stages are outlined below.
 +

 +
==== November 2 to November 9, 2021 ====
 +
<center>'''Brew as much Evil Extract as you can during this week!'''</center>
 +

 +
As of November 2, 2021, all the mice in the Gloomy Greenwood '''will no longer drop any ingredients including Mousedrake Root'''.
 +

 +
Any ingredients that you've already collected can still be brewed and '''everything else will remain unchanged'''.
 +

 +
==== November 9 to November 16, 2021 ====
 +
<center>'''Spend all your Evil Extract before this week is over!'''</center>
 +

 +
As of November 9, 2021, the '''cauldrons will no longer brew while you hunt'''!
 +

 +
You can still use '''Reactive Reagent''' to finish brewing any ingredients you have left but the cauldrons will not work without it.
 +

 +
You can also choose to cancel your current brews and queues in order to get your ingredients back which you can spend in the Charm Shoppe or the Apothecary (General Store).

==== Exploring a Vault ====
+
{| style="width: 50%; margin: auto"
After locking in your coordinates and journeying to the Empyrean Sky Palace you'll find yourself at one of its endless treasure vaults. Exploring a vault is nearly identical to exploring a Floating Island, however, much greater treasures await your discovery!
+
| style="border: 0.083em solid; border-radius: 0.416em; padding: 0.416em" |
 +
<center>'''Reactive Reagent'''</center>

The vaults are where the Empyrean Empire house their extensive stash of loot and treasures. Vast quantities of Sky Ore and Sky Glass, Raw Ancient Jade to construct Ancient Charms, and even the minted currency of the empire itself: Empyrean Seals. Perhaps most valuable though is the Empyrean Treasure Trove you'll find by fully exploring a vault. Inside you'll always find '''at least one Adorned Empyrean Jewel''' along with other valuables!

ROCKING NEW UPDATES TO MOUNTAIN

16 November 2021

Chedd-ore aplenty in this revision!
Progress faster, catch more often, and collect more charms!

A Mountainous Welcome to new Hunters Awaits!

Makes one wonder what Larry offered in exchange for such a generous reduction. Perhaps it was a lifetime supply of moustache wax!

The Mountain: Reshaped and Refined

Years and years of bombardment from the power of the charms used here have sculpted a much more refined Mountain than what may be familiar to veteran hunters. After constant rattling and explosions, it seems a deeper layer of power charms has been revealed. Most mice will now be carrying Power Charms and even Super Power Charms instead of Small Power Charms so hunters will be able to blast through Chedd-Ore faster than before.

Lastly, it seems as though the disruption has caused the mouse population itself to shift and adapt to the new environment. Mouse encounter pools have been split into different standard cheese types, so check your trap effectiveness to see if your cheese will attract the mice you're after. You may even encounter a familiar face, The Flying Mouse, here in the Mountains. On top of that, mice strengths and their gold rewards have been adjusted. So, not only are mice a bit easier to catch, they're also more rewarding!

The Mountain HUD within the mobile app may appear out of date until the latest update has been downloaded. Keep an eye out for an update v1.116.0 (or higher) in the App Store and Google Play.

RELIC HUNTER SEASON 9 HAS BEGUN!

9 November 2021

Searchable Community Maps, Improved Mobile UI, New Rewards!
The new season of Relic Hunter brings exciting updates and unique rewards.

Relic Hunter Season 9 has begun!

The new Relic Hunter season brings with it exciting updates to Community Maps, important mobile interface improvements, changes to Elite and Slayer maps, and unique seasonal rewards.

So gather your relics, assemble your treasure hunting team, and prepare for adventure!

Community Map Listing Updates

You can now search, filter, and sort treasure maps by their name, number of mice caught, and number of hunters on the map on both the browser and mobile app.

There's also a handy menu link to go straight to the publicly listed Community Maps section.

Now it's even easier to find and join community maps of every shape and size!

Interface Improvements

Mobile Improvements

We've made even more mobile interface improvements from last year that will make mapping on mobile even smoother, more feature-rich, and more consistent with the browser experience.

These new additions to mobile are too numerous to list but here are some key changes:

  • Navigation tabs have been added to make treasure mapping more seamless
  • Caught mice are now grouped by the hunter who caught them
  • Inviting friends to your map has helpful filtering and sorting improvements

For an exhaustive list of all the changes to the mobile map UI, check out today's patch notes!

Chrome Slayer Treasure Maps

Introducing for the first time: Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Chests!

These prestigious treasure chests are awarded upon completion of an Elite Chrome Slayer Treasure Map, a challenge for only the bravest of hunters Archduke/Archduchess and above!

Slayer and Chrome Auras

When opening any Chrome Slayer Treasure Chest, both Chrome and Slayer auras are rewarded!

Chrome Slayer Scroll Case Exchange

Exchange your regular Slayer Scroll Case along with 2 Rare Map Dust and 100 Ancient Relics for a Chrome Slayer Scroll Case at the King's Cart.

Chrome Slayer Scroll Cases always open to reveal a map with difficulty that matches your hunter title.

Elite and Slayer Map Updates

Existing Elite treasure maps have been rebalanced to remove some unfair mice, add mice that were missing, and improve treasure chest rewards.

In addition to this, all Elite treasure chests (Slayer, Chrome Slayer, and Relic Hunter) now reward an additional item from a special exclusive reward list. Any Elite treasure map completed from this point forward will reward you with the improved treasure chest.

You can see a complete list of all the changes related to Elite and Slayer maps in today's patch notes!

THE MAGIC OF THE CAULDRONS IS COMING TO AN END

2 November 2021

Halloween is ending soon in the Kingdom of Gnawnia!
Brew as much Evil Extract as you can before the Greenwood is gone!

The Magic of the Cauldrons is Coming to an End

The brave hunters of Gnawnia have been so successful in capturing Baba Gaga and her evil minions that they've managed to completely rid the Gloomy Greenwood of all its foul ingredients! Now that the wicked wood witch is on the run, the magic that keeps her cauldrons brewing is starting to fade away and her hut, along with her minions, will soon leave that dark and dreary forest.

There are two stages to the shutdown of the Boiling Cauldron event to help hunters to maximize their event rewards. The details of the two stages are outlined below.

November 2 to November 9, 2021

Brew as much Evil Extract as you can during this week!

As of November 2, 2021, all the mice in the Gloomy Greenwood will no longer drop any ingredients including Mousedrake Root.

Any ingredients that you've already collected can still be brewed and everything else will remain unchanged.

November 9 to November 16, 2021

Spend all your Evil Extract before this week is over!

As of November 9, 2021, the cauldrons will no longer brew while you hunt!

You can still use Reactive Reagent to finish brewing any ingredients you have left but the cauldrons will not work without it.

You can also choose to cancel your current brews and queues in order to get your ingredients back which you can spend in the Charm Shoppe or the Apothecary (General Store).

Reactive Reagent
Available in the Apothecary (General Store)
Cost: 3 Mousedrake Root

The following items will still be available for purchase from the Premium Shop during this week:

25 Spooky Shuffle Tickets
Match for rewards!

Spooky Shuffle Dust

After November 16, 2021

Make sure to brew it all and spend it all before November 16!

On November 16, 2021, the Gloomy Greenwood location will disappear! Any hunters still in the Greenwood will be escorted to the Town of Gnawnia by the King's Guards.

At this point, the following ingredients will be removed from your inventory:

  • Pungent Pumpkin
