Special Items are items that appear in the [MHdomain/inventory.php?tab=4 Special] Inventory tab.

The special items are currently divided into 4 sub-sections:

* Adventuring Items

* Baskets & Kits

* Currency; and

* Miscellaneous

In particular, the Baskets & Kits are interactive special items and are also known as Convertibles. Each convertible includes two action buttons which will convert one or all of that Special item into other inventory pieces. If you do not wish to open all, but also do not want to open them one-by-one you can click on the "?" button in the right top corner of a special item and a pop-up will open to Larry's Loot Lexicon (LLL) where you can select how many of the item you want to open in one go.
+
The PAGENAME has 2 sub areas. The Beanstalk and the Castle in the Clouds.

Some convertibles will result in multiple items (such as Dragon's Chest or Mysterious Box), but most are randomly converted to only one item out of the possibilities. Even when only one item is produced, there is often a random range in the quantity of that item (such as anywhere between one and five Peppers per Pepper Plant).
+
The Beanstalk
+
The Beanstalk is separated into "zones" which are each 20 hunts long.

Some special items can only be obtained during Events. The Ronza Vouchers are currently the only Limited Edition special items.
+
The type of zone (Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate) determines how many Magic Beans will drop per catch.
+
Condensed Creativity doubles loot drops of Magic Beans.

The Castle in the Clouds
{| border="1" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" style="margin:0 20px; font-size:90%; text-align:center; border-collapse:collapse;" class="wikitable sortable"
+
There are 3 floors in the Castle in the Clouds, the Dungeon Floor, the Ballroom Floor, and the Great Hall Floor.
|- bgcolor="#dddddd"
+
Each floor consists of "rooms" that are each 20 hunts long. The type of room (Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate) determines which items the mice will drop, how many items the mice drop per catch and how much Noise is added to the Noise Meter.
! width="150px" | Item
+
Each piece of loot raises the Noise Meter by one so your Loot Multiplier is how much Noise you will make per catch.
! width="300px" | Description
+
Failing to catch a mouse adds half of the total Loot Multiplier of Noise to the Noise Meter.
! width="150px" | Usage
+
If you reach the end of a room with a full Noise Meter then the Giant will awaken and chase you out. At the end of the chase, you will encounter the Giant until you defeat it.
! width="150px" | Source
+
The Giant Chase adds a 2x additional loot multiplier.
! width="150px" | Image link
+
Defeating the Giant will reward Fabled Fertilizer and send you back to the Beanstalk.

Gameplay Mechanics

The Melky/Sandbox has 2 sub areas. The Beanstalk and the Castle in the Clouds.

The Beanstalk

The Beanstalk is separated into "zones" which are each 20 hunts long.

The type of zone (Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate) determines how many Magic Beans will drop per catch. Condensed Creativity doubles loot drops of Magic Beans.

Loot Multiplier on the Beanstalk

Zone Loot Multiplier Burning
Condensed Creativity
Standard Zone 1x 2x
Super Zone 2x 4x
Extreme Zone 4x 8x
Ultimate Zone 8x 16x

At the end of each zone, you'll encounter the guardian of the stalk, Vinneus Stalkhome.

Defeating Vinneus Stalkhome will reward one Fabled Fertilizer and send you up to the next zone.

If you have collected enough Fabled Fertilizers you can plant a vine to one of the rooms into the Castle in the Clouds

The Castle in the Clouds

There are 3 floors in the Castle in the Clouds, the Dungeon Floor, the Ballroom Floor, and the Great Hall Floor.
Each floor consists of "rooms" that are each 20 hunts long. The type of room (Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate) determines which items the mice will drop, how many items the mice drop per catch and how much Noise is added to the Noise Meter.
Each piece of loot raises the Noise Meter by one so your Loot Multiplier is how much Noise you will make per catch.
Failing to catch a mouse adds half of the total Loot Multiplier of Noise to the Noise Meter.
If you reach the end of a room with a full Noise Meter then the Giant will awaken and chase you out. At the end of the chase, you will encounter the Giant until you defeat it. The Giant Chase adds a 2x additional loot multiplier.
Defeating the Giant will reward Fabled Fertilizer and send you back to the Beanstalk.

Loot Multiplier in the Castle

Room Loot Multiplier Standard Cheese (+ 1x) Beanster Cheese (+ 2x) Lavish Beanster Cheese (+ 4x) Royal Beanster Cheese (+ 16x)
Standard Room 1x 1x 2x 4x 16x
Super Room 2x 2x 4x 8x 32x
Extreme Mystery Room 4x 4x 8x 16x 64x
Ultimate Mystery Room 8x 8x 16x 32x 128x

The Giant Chase or the use of Condensed Creativity doubles Noise and loot drops of Magic Beans, Lavish Lapis Beans, Royal Ruby Beans, Golden Harp Strings, and Golden Goose Eggs.

Burning Condensed Creativity OR Giant Chase
Room Loot Multiplier Standard Cheese (+ 1x) Beanster Cheese (+ 2x) Lavish Beanster Cheese (+ 4x) Royal Beanster Cheese (+ 16x)

Extreme Mystery Room 8x 8x 16x 32x 128x
Ultimate Mystery Room 16x 16x 32x 64x 256x

The Giant Chase and the use of Condensed Creativity simultaneously, quadruples Noise and loot drops of Magic Beans, Lavish Lapis Beans, Royal Ruby Beans, Golden Harp Strings, and Golden Goose Eggs.
