hunter's horn music notes question
Why does the hunter's horn sometimes produce one burst of notes and sometimes many bursts?

Question: Why a horn?
Why are we blowing a horn to make mice visit our mousetrap? Is it a reference to foxhunting? Because i'm pretty sure you don't catch a fox like this. I really don't get why it's a horn...
