* That goes against the convention on virtually every wiki I've worked on (Wikipedia being the preeminent example). Infoboxes are vertical at the top right; navboxes are horizontal at the bottom. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 03:34, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

** I'm fully aware of that, however, Locations don't have infoboxes, and the navbox at the bottom looks oddly out of place. Maybe if the Sidebar shown here was turned into both a location infobox and navbox? --Navarr 18:02, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

*** What kind of info would you put in an infobox for locations that isn't better covered in the narrative on the page? To me, the navbox doesn't look out of place at the bottom. That's where I would expect to find it as that's where they belong. I know you're set on getting it off to the right instead, but that just isn't how it's done on wikis (as you say you're aware). If you can come up with a legitimate infobox proposal for locations that isn't just a box for the sake of filling space, that's one thing. That could be added to the location pages. But dislocating a navbox isn't the right thing to do. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 18:09, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Move to Vertical?

The horizontal version just seems slightly out of place, what if we moved to a vertical version? I prepared a sample User:Navarr/Template:Locations. --Navarr 00:33, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

 • That goes against the convention on virtually every wiki I've worked on (Wikipedia being the preeminent example). Infoboxes are vertical at the top right; navboxes are horizontal at the bottom. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 03:34, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
