Some components are designed to offer small chances of catching a mouse regardless of the mouse’s strength. It is not uncommon for lucky traps to grant hunters the ability to catch mice that seem far too powerful for their trap.

Luck is a trap attribute that gives the player a chance of catching a mouse even if it would have normally gotten away. It works independently from the power and power type of a trap.

The higher the total luck value of a trap, the better the odds. It should be noted that luck is non-linear; the more luck your trap has, the more effective it becomes, and it is more effective against stronger mice than against weaker ones. For example, 8 luck is more than twice better than 4 luck, and 4 luck against a stronger mouse is more useful than 4 luck against a weaker mouse.

It is generally believed that, because power works much more often than luck does, hunters should not neglect significant differences in power in favor of boosting luck.

The weapons with the highest luck are the limited edition DeathBot (Chrome Edition), PartyBot, and Snow Barrage, with 30, 25, and 28 Luck respectively. The weapon with the highest luck that is currently available to players is the Arcane Capturing Rod Of Never Yielding Mystery, with 18 Luck.

The bases with the highest luck are the Dehydration Base and limited edition Polar Base, with 4 Luck each. Thus the highest possible luck value in-game is 34 Luck, pairing the DeathBot Chrome with one of the two bases.
