Year of the Dragon Festival Begins!

23 January 2012

The Year of the Dragon is Upon Us!

This Lunar New Year marks the Year of the Dragon, and with that comes the Year of the Dragon Festival! The King has decided to celebrate this year's Lunar New Year in high style and has converted the Vacant Lot into a grand festival of bright lights and booming sounds!

Unfortunately, pesky costumed mice have stolen the King's huge shipment of Dragon Breath fireworks and he needs your help to retrieve them!

Come join fellow hunters on the festival grounds, track down the mice, and light up the sky!

Find Missing Fireworks

Hunt down any of the mice in the Year of the Dragon Festival event location to find Firecracker Charms, or receive a small amount in your Loyalty Chests. These charms are only a small part of the fireworks display, but using them will help attract more of the mice in the area carrying the bigger explosives. Find several of these charms, equip them, then seek out the Costumed Tiger Mouse for some Nitropop potions!

These volatile concoctions are required to create Nitropop Charms. Be extremely careful when handling these bottles of explosive liquid! Use these potions to convert Firecracker Charms into Nitropop Charms. The bigger the explosion, the bigger the mouse you attract! Keep the celebrations going by finding and creating bigger and bolder blasts!

The Costumed Dragon Mouse

As the celebrations continue, and the fireworks display grows more intense, hunters will begin to spot the Costumed Dragon Mouse roaming the festival grounds, attracted by all the sights and sounds. Capture the Costumed Dragon Mouse to obtain the fabled Dragon Seal.

A Special Lunar New Year Trap Skin -- The Dragonbreath ACRONYM

When you obtain a Dragon Seal, you will earn the reputation of Lunar Dragon Hunter! Along with this new-found glory, you will be given access to the special Trap Skin in the Year of the Dragon Festival Trapsmith. Buy this Trap Skin with 250 Firecracker Charms to turn your ACRONYM into a sight to truly behold!

Tournament Hall Grand Opening

12 January 2012

After a lengthy construction process, the King's Tournament Hall has opened its doors to hunters!

The Tournament Hall is located in Valour and has a variety of shoppes where you can exchange your Tournament Tokens for hunting loot and equipment.

Tournament Bases

The King has commissioned the creation of three new bases as rewards for the most dedicated of tournament competitors!

Although these bases have impressive stats on their own, they really shine when armed with a Champion Charm. Along with the extra luck a charm provides, each tournament base gains a lucky glow when armed with a Champion Charm.

Bronze Tournament Base

The Bronze Tournament Base is a reward for hunters who have shown they are capable of competing in hunting tournaments. When armed alongside a Champion Charm, in addition to the charm's luck, this base glows with an additional +2 luck, for a total of 10 luck!

Silver Tournament Base

The Silver Tournament Base is a reward for hunters who have shown not only their ability to compete in hunting tournaments, but their dedication to winning tournaments. When armed alongside a Champion Charm, in addition to the charm's luck, this base glows with an additional +3 luck, for a total of 13 luck!

Golden Tournament Base

The Golden Tournament Base is a reward that is renowned as a symbol of a seasoned tournament competitor. Only the most dedicated of hunters dare set the goal of obtaining this opulent base. When armed alongside a Champion Charm, in addition to the charm's luck, this base glows with an additional +4 luck, for a total of 15 luck!

Champion Charms can be purchased from the Tournament Hall General Store, where they sell a pack of 12 for 1 Tournament Token. Using Champion Charms with a Tournament Base allow a hunter to reach the highest level of luck possible, so stock up!
(Note that this is incorrect, the highest possible luck can only be reached by arming Ultimate Luck Charms.)

Champion Trap Skins

Along with bases, you'll also find new trap skins at the Tournament Hall Trapsmith. These champion skins are unique to tournaments and are the perfect way to show off your tournament skill!

Right now the Tournament Hall has four unique skins in stock, however, the Trapsmith there is eager to work on new ones soon!

Champion Kits

The General Store at the Tournament Hall is stocked with plenty of special Champion Kits that contain loot and items to help you in various areas. From the dark and gloomy Mousoleum, to the intense battlefield of Furoma, all the way to the dark shadows of the Jungle of Dread!

Most Champion Kits only cost a handful of Tournament Tokens and will no doubt come in handy when you need that extra boost of supplies while competing, or want to save time collecting resources in an area.

Great Winter Hunt comes to an end

9 January 2012

Festive Comet has melted

The Festive Comet and Snow Fortress have both melted, marking the end of the Great Winter Hunt. Toy Parts can no longer be found and hunters will no longer receive Festive Feta in their loyalty chests.

The various Festive Shoppes that were at the Festive Comet have remained open in the Vacant Lot that now stands where the comet did. These shoppes will remain open until Thursday, January 12th to allow hunters to spend their collection of Ice Coins.

Now is the time to travel to the Vacant Lot and spend your Ice Coins! On Thursday, the Vacant Lot will close and you will no longer be able to spend Ice Coins.

Tournament Hall construction resumes

With the Snow Fortress now melted and the Mad Elf Mouse no longer in control, construction of the King's Tournament Hall can finally resume! Perhaps most exciting is the rate of progress; the workers estimate the hall will be completed sometime this week!

A final festive checklist

With the Festive Comet melted and the the Snow Fortress gone, Calamity Carl has put together one final checklist to help hunters ensure they've claimed all their rewards.

  • Visit the shoppes at the Vacant Lot in Gnawnia and spend your Ice Coins
  • Claim the two Limited Edition traps: The Nutcracker Nuisance and 2012 Big Boom Trap
  • Convert left over Festive Feta into Winter Charms, which have a +4 luck bonus that can be used year-round!

Remember, hunters: You must claim your rewards before Thursday, January 12th.

We hope everyone enjoyed this year's Great Winter Hunt and are excited to have everyone join us for the grand opening of the King's Tournament Hall in Valour!

Happy hunting!

Great Winter Hunt has come to an end!

  • If you have Ice Coins, visit the Vacant Lot to spend them before Thursday
  • Make sure you have claimed both of this year's limited edition traps

Great Winter Hunt Ends this Monday

5 January 2012

Festive Comet begins to melt

The Festive Comet and Snow Fortress are beginning to slowly melt, meaning it will not be long before both are reduced to large puddles, marking the end of the Great Winter Hunt!

At their current rate of decay, the Scientists of Digby have determined that both the comet and fortress will be gone sometime Monday, January 9th.

After the Festive Comet has melted, an area called the Vacant Lot will be in its place where the Festive Shoppes shall remain open for another few days to allow hunters to spend any and all Ice Coins they earned during the event. Make sure you spend your Ice Coins before the Festive Shoppes close!

A Festive Hunting Checklist

There was certainly much to do this Great Winter Hunt! To aide hunters, Calamity Carl has put together a quick checklist you can use to make sure you've done all there is to do!

  • Open the gifts friends left for you on your hunting profile
  • Peek in your team stocking and claim gifts left for you
  • Capture any event mice for which you have yet to fill the silhouette

Have you completed all there is to do? If so, what better way to show off your festive hunting expertise than competing in one of the remaining festive tournaments? If you have a stockpile of Festive Feta, head over to the tournament listings and start competing!

Great Winter Hunt ends Monday the 9th

  • Do all there is to do before Monday!
  • Festive Shoppes will remain open a few days after the event ends to spend Ice Coins
