Map Page Sample

  • The following chunk of code has been directly lifted from Valour Rift Treasure Map (with a few parts condensed for brevity) and is used in this Manual of Style page as an illustration.
  • If you are an Editor looking to make a new Treasure Map page, feel free to copy the code below into the edit box and adjust accordingly.
  • Do remember that you have the Show preview button at your disposal to ensure that your work is as desired.
  • Other pages related to treasure maps in general that should be updated include Scroll Case, Treasure Map and Treasure Chest.
  • Important: some key points that should be noted are listed under Notes below. They should be read before any edits are done.

Section 2 Notes

  • The "span id" tag included in the heading is designed to provide an easier way to redirect to the chest reward lists (as opposed to having the copy the whole heading while risking the chance of breaking the redirect if the heading is changed): do note to use [[ABC Treasure Map#Treasure Chest]] in particular if you need to link it on related pages such as Scroll Case, Treasure Map and Treasure Chest.
  • As with all table coding in general, please ensure that you check the spacing to make sure table rows are clearly differentiated and cell values all begin on the same line for future editors to easily reference and edit.
  • The reason for the nested tables is so that the "[Expand]" button isn't underlined as it would have been if the toggle was placed on the caption of the inner table: if you're a technically proficient editor reading this and know of a simpler workaround and/or solution, please feel free to change it!
  • For the Guaranteed Items table, please list down Gold, Points and Ancient Charms first followed by arranging the other rewards alphabetically.
  • For the Variable Items table, all rewards should be ordered alphabetically.
  • Currently, items that are guaranteed to appear in the treasure chest but have variable quantities are listed under the Guaranteed Items table.
  • For items that have variable quantities, please note that there are multiple ways of representing the numbers:
    • 1) 1 – 5 (for example): To be used for continuous data
    • 2) 1 or 3 (if only two possibilities, for example): To be used for discrete data
    • 3) 1, 3, or 5 (for more than two possibilities, for example): To be used for discrete data
    • If you are uncertain as to which way should be applied, please feel free to discuss with the other editors.
  • For items that are not found in either the common or rare chests, please place down "N/A" in the cell (do not leave any cells empty).
  • Important: Please be aware that chest reward data should be outlined here in a by-chest manner, that is to say, these numbers are the ones shown when you open the chest in-game. This is different from the by-slot manner in which MHCT records down its min-max ranges in the converter tool!

Section 3 Notes

  • The "span id" tag included in the heading is designed to provide an easier way to redirect to the map mice lists (as opposed to having the copy the whole heading while risking the chance of breaking the redirect if the heading is changed): do note to use [[ABC Treasure Map#Treasure Map]] in particular if you need to link it on related pages such as Scroll Case, Treasure Map and Treasure Chest.

  • For both the Guaranteed Mice and Variable Mice tables, all mice should be ordered alphabetically.
  • Currently, mice that are semi-guaranteed to appear in the treasure map (in other words, certain mouse slots are known to be selected from a fixed group of mice) are listed under the Variable Mice table.
  • Do note the following for the cell values:
    • Mouse: Make sure to double check the internal link, some mice have a "Mouse" after the name, some don't.
    • Location/Sublocation: The location should have an internal link, followed by a break row (<br/>) and then the sublocation in brackets and italicised where applicable. The sublocation need not be one that is outright stated in-game: check the location page and determine based on your own discretion to see whether there is one (discuss with the other editors if unsure).
    • MouseGroup: Again, make sure to double check the internal link!
    • MouseSubGroup: Do be aware to include a colon (:) before the Category as per the sample code above, as not doing so will cause the internal link to fail. See Colon trick.

Section 4 Notes

  • History and Trivia:
    • Each treasure map page should at least have one entry: the release date of the scroll case and treasure chests.
    • The date is always in the following format: '''DD Month YYYY:''' (the month is spelled out in full!). Avoid using {{DATE}} as it will introduce an unwanted line break.
    • Information should be listed in chronological order: for any pieces of info without a specific date, they are generally listed at the top as they represent random trivia that will remain relevant over time (discuss with other editors if unsure).
    • Any information about the map that doesn't fit in any of the sections above should most likely either be placed here (discuss with other editors if unsure).
  • Links and Images:
    • Please use {{MHdomain}} for both LLL and Image links.
    • There is no need to include the LLL and image links for the scroll case as they have already been mentioned in the info box.
    • For Image links, please remove the "?cv=number" at the end of the links (the links should end with the file format, usually gif or png).
    • VERY Important: With regards to MHCT links, it is a MUST to include the following disclaimer by request of the MH devs:
      • Disclaimer: HitGrab, the developers of MouseHunt, does not support or endorse any of the following third-party tools. Use at your own risk.
    • The following MHCT terms are also fixed (they should not be changed without consulting Jack on Discord):
      • Mapper: The probability of a particular mouse appearing on the ABC Treasure Map.
      • Converter: The expected average quantity and probability of a particular reward from the ABC Treasure Chest.
      • Converter (Rare): The expected average quantity and probability of a particular reward from the Rare ABC Treasure Chest.
    • Should there be other links besides LLL / Images / MHCT, please list them below Images and above MHCT. Links to third-party tools must be listed at the bottom. Consult the other editors regarding the order of the links if there is more than one (same applies if another third-party tool is added).
