::Thanks. I held off making the change because I figured surely no one would have put that in unless they had hard evidence. Anyway, someone once caught a meditation room master with brie, so I will quite believe you can attract a Gate Guardian with runic, and maybe even an Acolyte with white cheddar - but I wouldn't say it's their "preferred bait"!!! --[[User:Winelight|Winelight]] 07:38, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Preferred Cheese

Seeing the recent edits back and forth over the preferred cheese section, I think some clarification on the term "preferred cheese" is needed.

Basically, a cheese is preferred if a mouse cannot be attracted normally by other cheese types, especially the standard ones such as Swiss, Brie, SUPER|brie+. A cheese is also preferred if it can be attracted by standard cheese, but that the Developers have indicated will raise the encounter rate, for example, Brie and SUPER|brie+ being known to raise the encounter rates for Burglars, with SB+ more so than Brie.

So the simple answer is, can Gate Guardians be attracted by standard cheese? I'm quite sure the answer is no. So the next question is, can it be attracted by the crafted cheeses? If yes, which ones? Does Runic work? Ancient? If they can be attracted by either, then that is a preferred cheese. The difference then would be in the degree of preference. This cannot be clearly explained in the infobox, so a clarification should be made in the Preferred Cheese section of the Mouse page.

Hope that clears up the differences in opinion about preferred cheese. -- Grexx 17:28, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

All well and good but in fact you cannot attract GGs with Runic. At least, I cannot find any evidence to suggest that the attraction rate is greater than 0. -- Winelight 11:03, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
