Talk:Lycan Mouse

From MHWiki

I think we should have some discussion about which trap is better for catching a Lycan. From its description I would assume the shadow energy traps are more effective.

bait pref

perhaps it should be noted that the bait pref isn't radioactive blue as my friend has also attracted it with brie in the mousoleum. Along the same line, using RB has no real bonus attraction for the Lycan in the training grounds either. It would be much like trying to hunt a hapless in the other 2 chambers of the pagoda aside from the dojo. AzureOwl 22:05, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

  • I agree about RB and removed that info. Shouldn't have been there in the first place. Now, as for hunting the Hapless in other rooms of the Pagoda ... not quite sure I see the point you're trying to make, but when I was trying to get one so I could get the plans, I hunted in the Pinnacle Room and caught Hapless left and right and eventually one dropped the plans. Much more efficient (IMHO) than hunting among the "general population" and hoping for a Hapless. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 22:22, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
    • lol. when I went to meditation room and forgot to switch my cheese I had about a page of no attraction... but this is irrelevant to the lycan >_<AzureOwl 23:27, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

As far as I have hunted (~1 1/2 days) with cheddar in the training grounds Ii have not attracted a single lycan. If the cheddar is a bait preference it can only be held towards the mousoleum. --AzureOwl 01:54, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Nibbler comment

Can someone clarify what is meant by the "some who have caught Nibbler mice" comment recently added to the page? Not seeing the connection. -- B.Rossow talkcontr 05:14, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed it too and was so confused. Good to see I'm not the only one...Camomiletea 05:07, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Cheddar Attraction

Seems that the Cheddar attraction was for but a brief period. Some attraction information here. -- Grexx 13:56, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Training Grounds

Last I knew it was possible to catch a Lycan in the training grounds and I would test it but my account got disabled from facebook. Can anyone else verify if it has changed in the past month to being impossible to catch a Lycan in the Training Grounds? --TheGort 20:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

According to the list of mice in Furoma, there are Lycans there. It doesn't specify the exact location of course, but at least it's an indication that they are there. I'm going to revert the change, until further proof is presented that they are gone. -- Camomiletea 21:22, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I am trying to catch one now. Will be interesting to see how it goes. -- Pakaran 21:55, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
In the training grounds, with moon cheese, I got one white mouse and two failures to attract out of 3 hunts. However the total number of lycan catches in Furoma by all players is only about a hundred (compare to the "rare" nibbler or bw or mole mice which have been caught tens of thousands of times each). So, I don't think this is evidence that the lycan isn't there. -- Pakaran 22:11, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I just crafted 7 Moon, and going to try this out. -- Camomiletea 23:43, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Looks like I was wrong, Furoma catches have gone from 120 to 122. Looks like you caught one of them Camomiletea, good job.Fishwick 00:15, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Wow, I'm really impressed with the HitGrab Horsey trap (only used it for the freshness factor - wouldn't do to lose this expensive Moon cheese):
6:59pm
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 1 oz. Lycan mouse from the Training Grounds worth 9,250 points and 5,501 gold. [1]
I think this sets the record straight: there are Lycans. People just aren't using RB or Moon in TG, hence there are few catches. -- Camomiletea 00:09, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
