- 30 December 2011: The Firecracker Charm was introduced during the Great Winter Hunt 2011 when it was dropped by Party Head and New Year's Mice, with this description: These tiny explosives give your trap an extra boost of power!
- A hunter had to collect 100 Firecracker Charms in order to purchase the 2012 Big Boom Trap at the Festive Comet Trapsmith.
- 23 January 2012: The Firecracker Charm developed location-specific properties for the Year of the Dragon Festival.
- 250 Firecracker Charms are used to purchase the Dragonbreath ACRONYM Skin at the Year of the Dragon Festival Trapsmith.
- 11 February 2013: Rereleased during the Year of the Snake Festival, where it was dropped by mice on Calamity Carl's Cozy Cruise. The second paragraph of the description was added at this time. It read:
