MHWiki:Data Links

This page contains a list of the various pages that are linked together by the need to refer to the same information. It is meant to further aid editors in ensuring consistency throughout the MH Wiki. This is a necessity because it is basically impossible in a wiki, for example, to specify that White mice can be found in the Laboratory, and for it to be automatically updated into the Laboratory and Mice articles.

The links have been divided into specific categories, along with the link to the necessary pages whenever possible.

The lists themselves can become outdated if new pages are added that require the information. In which case, please make sure it stays updated.

Introduction of new breed of Mouse

Other than making sure the information is in the respective Mouse page (refer to MHWiki:Manual of Style for the template), these are the other things that need to be done. From top to bottom based on the Mouse template:

Power Type	● Adding the Mouse to its specific Power Type page: Physical, Shadow, Tactical, Forgotten, Arcane
Bait Preference	● Updating bait preference to the Mice page ● Updating bait preference to the Location where the Mouse is found

Categorization	● Adding to the Gameplay category using [[Category:Gameplay]] ● Adding to the Mice category using [[Category:Mice]] ● Adding to the Respective location category using for example, [[Category:Bristle Woods]]

Introduction of new Loot

Other than updating into the main Loot page, these are the additional things that need to be done, sorted into Crafting and non-crafting loot.

Dropped Crafting Loot

Category	Updates needed
Loot Name	● Creation of Loot Page with regards to the following: Redirect page - If it is minor loot, redirect to Crafting page Disambiguation page - If it belongs to a class of loot, such as the Master's shards. Full Content page - If it contains enough information to justify it's own page ● Update into dropped crafting items in Crafting
Dropped By	● Update respective Mouse page ● Update respective Location page ● Update into respective loot article if it has it's own page

Dropped Non-Crafting Loot

This covers everything else, such as Maps, Potions etc.

Introduction of new Location

Covers the updates needed to be made around the wiki when a new location is introduced. For the location layout itself, refer to MHWiki:Manual of Style for the template. From top to bottom, based on the Location Template.

List of Mice	● Important catches should be reflected in Location Quick Reference ● For existing mice, make sure the respective Mouse page is updated with the new location, along with the Mice page.
Hunting Strategies	● Important strategies should be summarized and updated to Location Quick Reference
Trivia	● Not currently used in any other page
Categorization	● Not currently used in any other page ● Automatically added into page with the {{location}} Transclusion.

Introduction of new Cheese

Newly introduced cheese have all required crafting to create. The following is the list of things to look out for when new cheese are introduced into the game.

Cheese Name	● Creation of cheese page with redirect to Crafted cheese ● Adding the entry into the Crafted cheese page ● Update into Cheat Sheet
Formula	● Update into Crafted cheese, Cheat Sheet when it is discovered
Description	● Update into Crafted cheese page in italics
Trivia	● Update into Crafted cheese page as needed.
Preferred by	● Bait preference should be noted in its Crafted cheese section as much as possible ● Updated into the various Mouse pages ● Updated into the Mice article ● Update into the respective location mice table
