- 21 July 2009: The Ancient Spear Gun was introduced with the release of Tribal Isles.
- 29 July 2015: The point requirement for the Ancient Spear Gun was lowered from 12,000,000 to 3,500,000.
- 22 March 2022: The Ancient Spear Gun became available in some Trapsmith with the Shops Infrastructure Overhaul update.
- 17 May 2022: With the removal of its blueprints, the Ancient Spear Gun can no longer be crafted.
