Recognizing wiki contributions by frequent editors
Some might have noticed that I have been summarizing some of the contributions that various editors have made to the wiki. While every contribution is welcome, these editors have put in a lot more effort into bringing the MH Wiki to the very useful and organized state it is in today. You will only have to look at the initial stages of the wiki to see the tremendous difference these individuals have made.
To put things into perspective, the Statistics page shows well over 11,000 edits. Out of this, easily over half of the edits have been made by the handful of frequent contributors.
For editors having issues saving edits
If you are facing the session timeout problem, please check that you are using the following address when editing: http://mhwiki.hitgrab.com/wiki/. This link comes direct from the game's lore tab.
Make sure you are not using the link from the MH Toolbar, which is: http://mousehunt.hitgrab.com/wiki/

There is another issue which can't be resolved so easily, is that of frequently changing IP address. If your IP address changes very frequently with each page load or so, you will usually be unable to save any edits due to some issue with the wiki recognizing only 1 address. The workaround for this is to use a proxy server to get a fixed IP.
Some basic info about myself
MHWiki is the 1st non-MMO Wiki and 3rd Game Wiki I'm contributing to. I actually prefer to do lots of data mining, but MH goes at a somewhat more relaxed pace, so I started doing general Wiki editing too. Feel free to ask any questions or ask for help with the wiki/game, including technical related stuff and I'll try my best. If you want to keep it private, you can send me a facebook message or drop me a wiki mail.
Wiki Etiquette
For new editors, please also read through this very important Wikipedia article on wiki etiquette here.
The following I find especially important:
- Work towards agreement.
- Argue facts, not personalities.
- Be civil.
Many players treat the wiki like the forums, which it is not. Keep drama off the wiki, please.
Remember, only Facts and Truths on the wiki. None of that "I think it should be like this". A single mistake on a major page can send hundreds of players off trying to duplicate or verify the facts if not corrected quickly. When in doubt, discuss on the talk page.

List of things that need attention
Here are just some of the things that the wiki needs help with but which I currently can't find the time to do up:
- FAQ STILL needs some attention with regards to re-wording, fact checking, and providing of examples. Talk:FAQ
- Starting out Page could do with some attention.
- Site Map being considered. (Low Priority, will be done only if really free!)
- Adding a brief but informative description to the various links all over the wiki so that players can more easily decide whether to follow a link. Example: Crafted cheese#See Also
- The MH Toolbar could use with a detailed writeup in an article on its own, such as how to use it and some of the other things currently covered in the FAQ MH Toolbar section. It should have its own page considering it is quite an integral part of the game now with the need for SB+, and players will be seeking out more information on it.
- Power Type, Arcane, and Forgotten pages will need a revamp since Arcane is now a Mouse Power Type, separate from the Forgotten Power Type.
- Adding a note of recognition to the various editors who have helped keep this wiki in excellent shape. Ideas from this general wiki page: Wikipedia:Barnstars.

An incomplete list of more major stuff that the MHWiki could do with, but which is currently missing:
Proper writeup for General Path article. See Talk:General_Path for discussions.Project completed thanks to Camomiletea! The replacement page is Location Quick Reference.- Collecting information on the percentages that make up Attraction Rate. See Talk:Attraction Rate for discussion.
- Collecting information on Attraction Rate of the different cheese in-game. Will need to account for any rank differences. Extremely Challenging, will be good to do in parts and ignore some cheese types.
- Confirming Attraction Bonus calculations. See Talk:Attraction Bonus.
- Collecting information on the percentages for Cheese Effect. Already partially done by myself, but as yet incomplete.
- Doing a template for the various bases and weapons to allow for easier navigation, similar to what we have for locations right now. See Template:Location and Location.
