Why separate?

I don't really see the distinction between placing these events here instead of the Timeline. You can say that players accomplished these things, and developer's releases are listed on the Timeline, but you could just as easily redefine items left on the Timeline to fit here as well (e.g. "some mouse first caught" vs "some mouse released"). The Timeline is easily search-able if someone is looking for this information. --Hyperchao 06:04, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. No need to differentiate. --GoBecky 15:44, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
I know this much. It was noted a while ago though that these 'Milestones' may be lost among all of the dev-releases into the game. People may wish to just view what the hunters (players) achieved over the course of the game's history, and not have to look through a lot of excess information. --S18067 16:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
You're correct, Victor.Song raised the issue back in February, but no input was given at the time by other editors (probably because they/we didn't see it). Something approaching consensus should be reached (or at least attempted) before starting such a big edit; clearly not all editors are in agreement here.
On the substance of the issue: If we decide to filter out user contributions/"milestones," I believe it should be a second section within the main Timeline article, which could be split into, say, "Development Timeline" and "Community Milestones." I simply see no need for distinct articles, especially since their relationship to one another is not clear to readers. --GoBecky 18:02, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
