Now that the KG has been fully released, do we still want to redo this page? (I do.) My proposal is that, for ease of navigation, linking, and reading, we should split up the Mice section, and within each include some of the info from the strategy section. So it would look something like this for each of the 8 Tiers — here's T6, for example:

Personally, I kinda feel that since you can't actually hunt for, say, a Stealth and a Cowbell and a Paladin at the same time, comparing them is ''almost'' moot. I think of the floors as separate locations, you know? But there could be some reason someone wanted to see all the mice together… I don't know. I think that that's outweighed by what we'd gain in terms of linking, etc, and just that it'd be so much easier to read… but that's based on how ''I'' use the wiki, you know? Maybe in that little explanatory paragraph, a note that mice increase in points and gold at each floor. (Or if there's enough need for it, a subpage with that table could be added… like King's Gauntlet/All Mice.)

::I'm just going on the precedent set by others when I suggested adding a similar parameter to the individual mouse pages after Longtail came out. At the lower tiers at least, it's still a question of strategy; do you go with the Chillbot for higher luck/more loot, or a Tactical because it's the stated weakness? You're right that it's not 'incorrect' to label it "Weakness," but I think we do a disservice by implying it's the 'only' weakness. Which is what the strategy section does now: '"...their vulnerability to other power types is unknown but it is reasonable to conclude that they resist most or all."' I haven't gotten around to testing T2 with every power type, but I did accidentally leave my HVMT equipped for a few hunts and had no problem. I don't have time right now to reword that section, but to me it's the main sticking point. As long as we're clear there that power type is (as in most places in Longtail) just one factor to consider, then the table heading isn't 'as' important. ::My thought on creating this was to give a graphical view of the standard trap type used to catch the mice in a tier. While I agree with all the above info, I still think that many people are confused as to which type of traps they should be using to catch any particular mouse (in any area, not just this one.) When all else fails I tend to look for the simplest explanation and let the details fall as they may. For newer hunters, and this is where I mainly keep my focus, my thought is to give them the standard power type used for that tier, and let the more advanced players take note that traps of another power type may also work due to some outstanding quality of a particular trap. I also take to admins word as canon; "Bards can be quite wily, so using a strong tactical trap will help the aspiring hunter stay on-key." It's just occurred to me, that even though the minimum rank for the gauntlet is "Apprentice" on the travel page, a hunter needs a minimum rank of "Initiate" to get to the gauntlet. Due to the floor-plans being obtained in the Harbour, which is now open for Initiate or higher, it's impossible for anyone ranked Apprentice to actually get to the Gauntlet unless they received the plans prior to the rank change. Redo?

Mice Group

I think that the column titled Mice Group is not helpful, when all the mice are in the same group. I propose getting rid of this column, and putting in a narrative that says the mice here are Gauntlet Gladiators. -- camomiletea 17:12, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Regarding that, I think it would be better to have a column for Tiers (e.g. Tier 1, Tier 2, etc.), which should be the default sorting order, rather than alphabetical. Then in the strategy section we can discuss the details about bait preferences and anything else relevant to the particular Tier. -- camomiletea 17:46, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Tier 2?

How is it that some of the mice in this article are already listed as being in Tier 2 of the King's Gauntlet? It was my understanding that Tier 2 is not yet open, and as such we couldn't possibly know which mice will or will not appear in this tier. Unless someone can explain how we know this, I propose we remove the "Tier 2" references for the moment until Tier 2 is actually released. —MearsMan talk 04:45, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Some Tier 2 cheese was released as a glitch, rather than getting the potion, they got the cheese. Some hunters then used the tier 2 cheese to catch tier 2 mice, that is why they are listed as such. --niehusa 07:16, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
