Pincher weapons

I think there should be a note on how to use the pinchers to attract pawns of a particular side. I assume the same holds for the two craftable weapons as well considering their lower power; if and when it is beneficial to switch over to ZFM would be helpful. These purposes should probably show up on the main section of each weapon page too. --Hyperchao 16:37, 30 August 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. I was hoping someone who actually has experience would write it up, but from what I gather in the forums, it appears that mice of one faction are more resistant to particular weapons than mice of the other faction. I put a note about it in the Hunting Strategy for Pawns, but we do need something on the weapons pages, and here. -- camomiletea 16:42, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I am a bit behind since I decided to grind coal after SG opened. One aspect I would like to explore is whether it is advantageous to use a high luck tactical weapon once the tower percentage drops. I assume only power is affected? If this is the case, the current advice of using the "strongest Tactical setup" is misleading. Even more so due to both levels of either Technic/Mystic-specific weapons. --Hyperchao 21:26, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I haven't been able to go to ZZT yet either, but there is still no consensus in the forums if luck is indeed affected by the amplifier, and if high luck traps are better when the amplifier gets low - see page 5 for example: http://mhtiny.info/?tqb6qd . Also agree with Camomiletea that pincher weapons work by being more effective against one type of pawns, while being less effective against the other type, allowing the hunter to collect pawns of the desired type only. Attraction rates for both types stay as usual. OA and BPT, on the other hand, seem to be equally effective against both types of chess figures, but attraction rate is skewed in favour of the desired type. --Totoro 22:08, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Upon closer reading, luck is reduced as well as power so a high luck strategy would not be effective, but my comment about the current advice still stands concerning the special tactical traps. --Hyperchao 02:15, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
According to some FBF reviews, devs said that luck is affected by the amplifier but power is affected more. So it still may be advantageous to switch to a lucky trap... or not. This will take a while to figure out. -- camomiletea 14:36, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Chess Master

This page suggests that, once you've caught the King with Checkmate Cheese, the Chess Master will be attracted to any cheese. Is that in fact the case? shaun1e 22:22, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm..... Good question. I'm not sure about that, since I've never made it that far, and I don't think many of the other editors have either, so I don't have an answer to this question. I get the feeling that it is only attracted to Checkmate though. -- S18067 talkcontr 13:58, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Amp Decreases

I just noticed this, and I'm now completely sure about this, but the decrease percentages are identical to that of the amount of 'points' each piece in chess is worth.<br\> Pawn = 1 points<br\> Bishop/Knight = 3 points<br\> Rook = 5 points<br\> Queen = 9 points<br\> King = End of game<br\> Do you think this is worth mentioning in the page? -- S18067 talkcontr 17:40, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

I believe it's mentioned in Tower Amplifier. Regarding the Tower Amplifier, please also see the comments here - Talk:Seasonal Garden#Tower Amplifier. Post your opinions there on whether to make it a separate article with all the related information. -- camomiletea 01:19, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
