the lab, and town of gnawnia are definately accurate locations although uncommon there by i know 100% that i have seen them caught in both the lab and town of gnawnia so thats why i think it should be added to mole page. really if looking to catch one your best bet is still meadow or digsby though. <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Icdbko32|Icdbko32]] ([[User talk:Icdbko32|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Icdbko32|contribs]]) 20:02, 3 February 2009</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->

*If you can provide a screenshot, show posts my other players also claiming catches in these locations, or other proof of catching them in those places I'm happy to consider it. But none of the editors I've talked with have ever seen them in these locations nor have they seen reports from others claiming catches in these locations. I'm happy to look at proof, but the current evidence is overwhelmingly against your claim.  Nothing personal in the least. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 02:30, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

:LOL! Sorry about that — I check the [[Special:RecentChanges|RecentChanges]] page to see what's new and it looked like you might benefit from a bit o' coding.  BTW, it's good wiki etiquette to always sign your entries on people's Talk (Discussion) pages by either typing <nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki> or by clicking the signature button atop the edit box (second button from the right, looks like a scribble). Just a tip, not a complaint. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 05:54, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

== Question ==

I have been reading the wiki ever since I started playing, but finally decided a few days ago to start helping when I saw stuff that I thought needed to be done, so a steep learning curve (two days) later I make my first page by myself with the wonderful help of the templates. This is why I love this game, and specifically this wiki, I (the uber newbie wiki editor) see the new GB House trap info and do my best to get a new page up with all the proper info in real time. Being a newb though, and having to run out the door in the middle of my edits because the freezing weather made our pipes explode, I left my page in disarray. I am very thankful, and I am sure others are as well, that you have shown so much dedication to a consistent style and format. I look forward to you correcting my many mistakes in the future. --[[User:Niehusa|Niehusa]] 03:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Are you a dev? Or the equivalent to the MHWiki? Just curious. And thanks for the help on the coding. Is there anything else I could do?--[[User:Delish|Delish]] 06:39, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

:We're glad to have you aboard and appreciate your helpful contributions! The great thing about a wiki is that errors -- made both by newbies and seasoned editors -- can easily be corrected and adjustments made. Sorry to hear about your burst pipes! No such disasters here (knock on wood) but it's been very cold (-8°F when I got up this morning) so I can sympathize. There are lots of editors here at least as dedicated as I am, and it's truly a group effort. Again, we're happy to have you as part of the group. Welcome aboard! If you have any questions or need assistance with editing, don't hesitate to ask myself or any of the other editors who have been around for a long time. (Hate to name names at the risk of leaving people out, but off the top of my head I know [[User:Grexx|Grexx]], [[User:Camomiletea|Camomiletea]] and [[User:M.|M.]] are frequently around and willing to help.) Happy editing and hunting! --<span style="border:2px ridge #aaf;background-color:#fff;padding:1px 8px;font:normal 10px Verdana,sans-serif;margin-left:-8px;">[[User:Brossow|<span style="color:#358;">B.Rossow</span>]] · [[User_talk:Brossow|<span style="color:#35d;">talk</span>]]</span> 03:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
:Nope. Just another editor here with a need for something to fill the 15 minutes between hunts. LOL! I've got a lot of wiki experience and actually host one for another game I won't mention here. Always glad to help out. As for helping out ... I guess just look around and see what's missing or messy.  I know the [[Starting out]] and [[General Path]] pages could use some help. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 06:43, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Regarding the [[Cheat Sheet#Mice|Mice]] table under [[Cheat Sheet]], wanted to check with you if [http://mhwiki.hitgrab.com/wiki/index.php?title=Cheat_Sheet&diff=next&oldid=89079 this edit] converting the columns back into one row was intended? Was just working on splitting it up when I suddenly recalled having done it before and went to check the history and noticed your edit on it. Curious about the rationale behind it, since the original idea was to make it easier to adjust for changes to mice locations. -- [[User:Grexx|Grexx]] 19:22, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

You're right about the edit to the traps page.  I personally think it's more useful to have the info in the table, and don't mind scrolling sideways, but I shouldn't have just undid your change.  Sorry. <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Nebjob|Nebjob]] ([[User talk:Nebjob|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Nebjob|contribs]]) 14:07, 5 February 2009</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->

*Just a follow up on the edit to the traps page. MouseHunters are NOT happy about the changes. They like the ease of looking up the trap info right there in one click from the main page. This wiki is for them, and should cater to what they want. That is the responsibility one takes on when one becomes an admin. That's what the Devs do for us in MouseHunt.

::I'm of the opposite opinion and found the seemingly randomly broken-up rows to be confusing and extremely hard to edit. One row just makes good sense to me, but whatever. If having it split up makes it somehow easier for the majority to deal with, so be it. A note describing exactly '''how''' it's split up would be greatly appreciated, however, as I could see no rhyme or reason to it and struggled greatly to make even simple changes. Counting across makes sense to me and should be easier for future editors, but again, whatever, :-) --<span style="border:2px ridge #aaf;background-color:#fff;padding:1px 8px;font:normal 10px Verdana,sans-serif;margin-left:-8px;">[[User:Brossow|<span style="color:#358;">B.Rossow</span>]] · [[User_talk:Brossow|<span style="color:#35d;">talk</span>]]</span> 20:18, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

:::Ah ok, they were actually split along regional lines as described under the [[Talk:Cheat Sheet#New Mice Table Layout|talk page]]. It actually cuts down on the counting needed whenever a new location or mouse location is added, so rather than counting from the first column you can start at the exact region. I'll move the instructions to the top of the page and include in a quick note within the article itself so it's easier to follow :) -- [[User:Grexx|Grexx]] 05:37, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I am new to the wiki. However, we discussed in the forum thread that the best way to get the journals is to use white cheddar in the meadow. As it's dropped by a Dwarf mouse, it automatically makes White Cheddar cheese the better bait option. Additionally, I'm only recording the number of users who happen to have caught it first time. As a man of science, I would not even consider my theory without evidence. I think 8 users catching it first time using the principle is a enough evidence to at least suggest it as a technique. See [[Mole Mouse]] for similar techniques of using white cheddar to catch a certain mouse. <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Zingbats|Zingbats]] ([[User talk:Zingbats|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Zingbats|contribs]]) 11:58, 8 February 2009</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned -->

:As a man of science, you might recognize that your sample size is too small to draw any meaningful conclusions (8 people out of some 100,000 players). At any rate, I moved the info to a "Hunting strategies" section (similar to the Mole Mouse page you mentioned) to try to find a balance between fact and theory. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 18:06, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

:: Oh come on. While I agree that I have (in no way) got enough evidence to say "Yes, every time you go to the Meadow with White Cheddar you will get the pages...", I have definitely got a pattern worth mentioning, and indeed investigating.
+
You reverted my move to the new prize mice category for the itunes mice, with reason it isnt an event mice and always available.
:: Additionally, moving to the hunting strategy page is useless. It's really got nothing to do with hunting, and everything to do with finding the pages! A user isn't going to look to the strategy page to find out how to get it, but rather the pages page itself.
+
So are all the mice in this category (leprechaun, treasurer, snooty, high roller, mobster). They are all always available (not just events) but still have the tag "event". What is the point of having two identical categories but named different? {{unsigned|Melky}}
::  The whole point of wiki is linking and unifying information. That means putting it into the right place.

:::Umm ... did you bother to look at the page?  The info is right there below the table. I didn't move it to a different page. It's right there in a more appropriate place ON THE PAGE. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 18:14, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
+
:Because during the short time it was available years ago, it wasn't a special event mouse. The wiki is about providing accurate information, not making stuff up and revising history to just to reduce the number of categories.

:::: I thought you meant the main hunting strat. page. Apologies.
+
:Also, please remember to sign your comments by adding <nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki> at the end.

::::: No need to apologize, really. Just a misunderstanding. For what it's worth, I just tried out the theory and will agree that it seems sound. Worked for me, anyway. What bothers me is that it doesn't seem to work for everyone. Having the info in a separate narrative section allows more room for discussion and explanation of the strategy, as I hope you'll agree.  On an unrelated note, it's good wiki etiquette to always sign your entries on talk pages using the signature button (second from the right above the edit box) or by typing <nowiki>--~~~~</nowiki> at the end of your post.  No hard feelings, I hope. --&nbsp;[[User:Brossow|B.Rossow]]&nbsp;[[User_talk:Brossow|talk]][[Special:Contributions/Brossow|contr]] 18:19, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

Have something to say?

If you have something to say, please click here (or use the [+] tab at the top of the page between "edit" and "history") to add a new section in order to keep the page more organized (unless, of course, you're commenting on a topic already being discussed). Please also remember to sign your post by using the signature button at the top of the editing box (it's the second button from the right, between the red "no" circle and the horizontal line) or by typing --~~~~ at the end of your entry. Thanks!
