Description
You and your friends have completed a treasure map and have discovered this tempting Treasure Chest!
Treasure Chests are given as rewards after a team has collected all of the Treasure Map Clues from a Treasure Map. There are two categories of Treasure Chests, Common and Rare. Common chests are awarded when Common maps are completed, and Rare chests are awarded when Rare maps are completed. There are 5 different chests for both Common and Rare.
Normal Treasure Chest Contents
Items
Treasure Chests contain some of the following items:
Gold, Points and Ancient Charms
As well as the above items, each treasure chest also contains gold, points and Ancient Charms, and this amount depends on the hunter's rank. To get the amount of gold and points a hunter will receive, count the number of ranks above or below Legendary and add or subtract the respective amounts from the amounts in the table. The Number of Items column indicates the number of different item types awarded.

Halloween Treasure Chest
Upon opening a Halloween treasure chest, the hunter receives the following items:
- 1 Halloween Theme Scrap II (unless maxed out)
- 1 Spooky Surprise
The hunter also receives the following:

- 1 (or 2) Extreme Luck Charms
- 4—6 (or 8—12) Festive Feta
- 3—6 (or 6—12) Ice Coins
- 3—5 (or 6—10) Snowball Charms
- 5—7 (or 10—14) Winter Charms
For a Rare Naughty treasure chest, the ranges of the above items are doubled (for example, 10 Ancient Charms by default, or 20 with the Festive Tavern).

History and Trivia
- Treasure Chests were introduced along with the Relic Hunter Mouse on 29 August 2012.
- On 10 September 2012, the type and quantity of loot found in chests was adjusted, so that easy chests gave less loot while arduous chests gave more, to even out the rewards based on the typical amount of time needed to complete harder chests.
- On 17 October 2012, the first event chest, the Halloween Treasure Chest, was released.
- On 11 April 2013, all hunters were awarded a Rare Arduous Treasure Chest to make up for the fact that unplanned server downtime lost the progress of everyone's Treasure Map.
- 14 January 2014 was the end of the first season of the Relic Hunter and Season 2 started. All Normal and Living Garden Treasure Chests in a hunters' inventory had their name appended with (season 1). All treasure hunts in progress, and newly started treasure hunts are now awarded a season 2 Treasure Chest.
