The Spooky Aura is a trap bonus that got introduced in the 2017 Halloween event, Creepy Carl's Cursed Cruise. It is represented by a green skull icon in the upper left of the main trap image on the Camp page. It can be earned by taking part in the Halloween event since it's introduction.
Contents
Spooky Aura Effect
When the aura is active, hunters will receive:
- 30% Power Bonus
- Chance to find Wealth Charm, Super Wealth Charm, Extreme Wealth Charm and Ultimate Wealth Charm
- Chance to find Cursed Gold
Obtaining a Spooky Aura
2017
The duration depends on the Ghostship destroyed. It could be extended untill the 30th of november.
- The Gnawnian Ghoul: 15 hrs
- Martial Mayhem: 18 hrs
- The Soul of the Sea: 20 hrs
- The Demon of the Desert: 22 hrs
- The Ancient Apparition: 24 hrs
- The Phantom of the Plane: 30 hrs
All Spooky Auras could not be extended beyond Nov 30th 2017.
When Hunter's cannons are armed with an Ethereal Cannonball, catching a mouse will damage the Ghostship by the same number of points of the captured mouse. The more valued the mouse, the more damage your cannon deals. The Ghostship they damage is based on the location from which hunters attack.
The HP of the Ghostship are as follow:
- The Gnawnian Ghoul- 8,000 HP
- Town of Gnawnia, Mountain, Harbour, Meadow and Windmill
- Martial Mayhem- 85,000 HP
- The Soul of the Sea- 560,000 HP
- The Demon of the Desert- 630,000 HP
- The Ancient Apparition- 1,575,000 HP
- The Phantom of the Plane- 1,620,000 HP
For example, the Martial Mayhem can be attacked from the Training Grounds, Dojo, Meditation Room, or Pinnacle Chamber. In that particular region (Furoma), only the Dojo itself is "Haunted". This means that Ghastly Galleon Gouda and Ethereal Cannonballs can only be found in the Dojo, but cannonballs can be fired from any other location in Furoma as well to bring down the Martial Mayhem.
2018
In addition to the ships that could be used to obtain the aura in 2018, the The Queasy Queso Cruiser and The Boney Barge got added for the Queso Canyon and Burroughs region respectively:
- The Boney Barge- 45,000 HP
- Laboratory, Mousoleum, Town of Digby andBazaar
- 16hrs of Spooky Aura
- The Queasy Queso Cruiser - 1,215,000 HP
- Queso River, Prickly Plains and Cantera Quarry
- 23hrs of Spooky Aura
Originally, the Toxic Spill could be used to attack The Boney Barge as well, but this option got removed during the event.
2019
In 2019, the Halloween event shifted from having region-specific ghostships to one Grand Ghostship. Gathering Spooky Ship Parts by shooting at the Grand Ghostship unlocked rewards, which included a total of 4 weeks of the Spooky Aura. 1 week of the Spooky Aura got unlocked at 200 and 1,000 Spooky Ship Parts, and an additional 2 weeks of the aura became available after gathering 2,000 Spooky Ship Parts.
2020
Instead of claiming the Spooky Aura directly, the reward track now gives Cursed Skulls, which can be crushed for 1 week of aura each. Just like during the 2019 Halloween event, a total of 4 weeks of the Spooky Aura could be claimed. The aura cannot be extended beyond December 1st, 2020. On this date, any Cursed Skulls left in hunters' inventories will be removed as well.
