Overview

Potions are used to convert one type of cheese into a different type of cheese or one type of charm into a different type of charm. Primarily dropped as loot, Hunters can find their Potions in their inventory.

Many cheeses created using potions are necessary for attracting specific mice in specific locations. The same is true for charms created using potions.

Using a potion requires the full quantity of cheese or charms; partial conversion is not possible. The conversion rate for all potions is 1:1, meaning that the amount of cheese or charm used as input is equal to the amount of cheese or charm produced as output by the potion. Using a potion may also use up gold in the process. Using higher quality cheese will generally decrease the cost of conversion and increase the quantity converted. The Hunter's title also affects the amount of cheese converted for some potions.

Conversion Strategy

Hunters should be aware that some cheeses that can be created using potions, may also be obtained in other ways that may require more or less gold.

Hunters should also take into consideration their Hunter's Title when using potions, since larger quantities of the created cheese can sometimes be obtained when a Hunter increases in rank.

History and Trivia

  • The words "Cheese Curd" were included in the names of certain potions when they were introduced to the game e.g. Radioactive Blue Cheese Curd Potion, Gnarled Cheese Curd Potion and Ancient Cheese Curd Potion. They were removed during the major update to version 3.0 (Longtail) on 8 June 2010.
  • Prior to MouseHunt 3.0, hunters were able to carry out a conversion even if they did not have enough cheese to fully utilize the potion.
