Many types of cheese can only be acquired through crafting. Below are formulas for crafting the different known varieties of crafted cheese. It has been noted that most crafted cheeses will never have more than 1 piece taken if the hunt result was a 'miss'.

The calculated costs only include the directly available vendor costs, and does not include variable costs such as SUPER|brie+ used in crafting Magic Essence.

Ancient

Formula: Ancient (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Stale Cheese 3 Loot
Ionized Salt 6 450
Total 2,700
Formula: Ancient (6 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Magic Essence 3 Crafting
Stale Cheese 3 Loot
Ionized Salt 6 450
Total 2,700

These tender morsels spark with electric energy that bind together dust-like particles of stale cheese. Ancient cheese expels a strong stale scent and is extremely volatile.

Ancient cheese can also be obtained using Ancient Cheese Curd Potions.

Known as the preferred bait of Gargoyle, Gate Guardian, Ghost, Golem, Gorgon, Keeper, Keeper's Assistant, Lycan, Mummy, Ooze, Ravenous Zombie, Reaper, Scavenger, Skeleton, Spectre, Spider, and Vampire mice.

Combat

Formula: Combat (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Paint-brand Paint 1 120
Splintered Wood 1 150 / Loot
Token of the Cheese Fang 3 Loot
Curds and Whey 5 3 – 10
Total 285 – 320

This cheese is specially prepared Swiss mounted on combat dummies and adorned with a target. Masters of the Cheese Fang often use this apparatus to teach students combat techniques as well as help decrease their mental weakness to cheese. Be warned! Should a Master of the Cheese Fang see a hunter using a chunk of this as bait it will surely cause them to challenge the hunter to defend the honor of the school.

A hunter who crafts Combat Cheese in order to catch a Master of the Cheese Fang might put it to use in the Meditation Room, where the Masters are most vulnerable.

Crunchy

Formula: Crunchy (15 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Savoury Vegetables 30 Loot
Coconut Milk 15 800
Salt 1 2-10
Curds and Whey 90 3 – 10
Total 12,272

Made with delicious stones found in the dunes of Tribal Isle, this cheese looks irresistibly tasty. Who needs teeth anyway?

Glutter

Formula: Glutter (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Cheesy Fluffs 1 80
Invisi-glu 1 50
Token of the Cheese Belt 3 Loot
Curds and Whey 7 3 – 10
Total 151 – 200

This cheese is the result of the careful art of fusing a seemingly infinite quantity of flavours into a single cube of cheese. This decadent bait seems to be the only cheese capable of breaking the will power of the Masters of the Cheese Belt.

A hunter who crafts Glutter cheese in order to catch a Master of the Cheese Belt might put it to use in the Meditation Room, where the Masters are most vulnerable.

Maki

Formula: Maki (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Nori 1 5
Curds and Whey 3 3 – 10
Magic Essence 3 Crafting
Total 14 – 35

Furoma Student mice love the smell of Maki cheese while most other mice find its scent unappealing. Its pungent odour travels farther than that of other cheese varieties making it capable of attracting more students to a hunter's trap.

Maki boosts the encounter rate for student mice in the Dojo by a rather large margin; however, it has a lower attraction rate for non-student mice. It can be smashed to yield one Magic Essence for converting back into SUPER|brie+.

Moon

Formula: Moon (1 piece)
Description Qty Cost
Meteorite 1 Loot
Magic Essence 2 Crafting
Curds and Whey 3 3 – 10
Total 9 – 30

One of the inventions the scientists of Digby are most interested in is space probe technology capable of fragmenting a small portion of the moon's surface to harvest small quantities of lunar cheese. Unfortunately the cost of launching the probes paired with their ability to only harvest a small quantity at a time means collecting this cheese is extremely expensive. Researching this cheese has proved quite dangerous during experiments in the Mousoleum as scientists seem to frequently become victims of Lycan attacks.

Moon cheese was briefly available through Ronza's Traveling Shoppe during a visit to the Burroughs region in October 2008.

Mice have been known to steal extra pieces of moon cheese.

Rumble

Formula: Rumble (1 piece) *
Description Qty Cost
Ionized Salt 1 450
Master's Seal 1 Crafting
Curds and Whey 20 3 – 10
Total 510 – 650
Formula: Rumble (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Ionized Salt 1 450
Master Belt Shard 1 Loot
Master Claw Shard 1 Loot
Master Fang Shard 1 Loot
Curds and Whey 20 3 – 10
Total 510 – 650

Little is known about the origins of Rumble cheese. Many hunters suspect it is an invention of the Furoma forces designed to somehow destroy Gnawnia. This cheese appears to be incredibly unstable and radiate a mysterious power outwards from its center. The power of Rumble cheese intimidates all mice, scaring them away yet some hunters believe it is the key to attracting powerful, malicious mice. Should you choose to use this bait think long and hard if you are strategically prepared for the adversary it may summon.

Any hunter who would employ this, the most powerful of the known cheeses, might consider deploying it where only the mightiest of the eastern mice reside, in the Master's Chamber, at the pinnacle of the tallest tower of Furoma.

Note

* To minimize the slots used, Grandmasters may consider crafting for 1 instead of 3 pieces.
* Hunters should be careful not to convert more Master's Seals than they need as it cannot be smashed to recover the shards.

Runic

Formula: Runic (1 piece)
Description Qty Cost
Rune 1 Loot
Stale Cheese 1 Loot
Ionized Salt 3 450
Total 1,350
Formula: Runic (2 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Magic Essence 1 Crafting
Rune 1 Loot
Stale Cheese 1 Loot
Ionized Salt 3 450
Total 1,350

Imbued with the darkness that consumes the Catacombs, this magical cheese strikes fear into the hearts of even the most powerful breeds of mice. Runic cheese appears faded, as if only barely laying within this plane of existence.

Known as the preferred bait of Acolyte, Gate Guardian, Golem, Gorgon, Lich, Spectre, and Wight mice.

SUPER|brie+ Reconstitution

Formula: SUPER|brie+ Reconstitution (1 piece)
Description Qty Cost
Curds and Whey 1 3 – 10
Magic Essence 1 Crafting
Salt 1 2 – 10
Total 5 – 20

This special, extra fragrant brie is only available as a gift to the supporters of MouseHunt. Due to the magical properties of SUPER|brie+, crafty mice are unable to steal multiple pieces of this precious cheese from hunters who hunt in dangerous environments. This cheese offers a 99% attraction rate for many of the mice in the game!

This recipe is used primarily by hunters who smashed their SUPER|brie+ and now want to reconstitute it. As the required Magic Essence can only be obtained by smashing a piece of SUPER|brie+ (or Maki, which is made with Magic Essence) to start with, the recipe results in a net loss of one Salt and one Curds and Whey.

Susheese

Formula: Susheese (3 pieces)
Description Qty Cost
Burroughs Salmon 1 150
Nori 1 5
Curds and Whey 3 3 – 10
Token of the Cheese Claw 3 Loot
Total 164 – 185

Considered somewhat of an acquired taste, Susheese is the traditional meal of the school of the Cheese Claw. The combination of delicious brie and fish fresh out of the Burroughs River seems to be the only bait that will attract the Masters of the Cheese Claw.

A hunter who crafts Susheese in order to catch a Master of the Cheese Claw might put it to use in the Meditation Room, where the Masters are most vulnerable.

White Cheddar

Formula: White Cheddar (1 piece)
Description Qty Cost
Curds and Whey 1 3 – 10
Salt 1 2 – 10
Total 5 – 20

This cheese is rather poor at attracting mice. However, it seems that its unique scent drives away the white, grey and brown breeds of mice.
