Description

Treasure Map or Wanted Poster is a set of mice the hunters are required to catch for a special reward. The difficulty, number and the location of the mice on the list depend on the type of map, and each type of map yields a different type of Treasure Chest. By default, maps are Common, but they can be upgraded to Rare with Rare Map Dust to increase the loot from the Treasure Chest. If a player upgrades the map, it affects all players following that map. Upgrading a map does not affect the difficulty of the mice on the list, only the rewards for completing the map. All maps can be upgraded.

A hunter can only follow a single Treasure Map/Wanted Poster at any given time.

Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters can be found under the Collectibles tab of the inventory, but disappear once they are completed.

Obtaining a map

In order to obtain a map, a hunter has to catch a Relic Hunter Mouse. In order to obtain a poster, a hunter will need to catch a Bounty Hunter Mouse instead.

Regular Treasure Maps

Catching the mice listed on this map will drop clues which when combined will show you where to find an incredible Treasure Chest!

There are 5 regular Treasure Maps: Easy, Medium, Difficult, Elaborate and Arduous. In the Collectibles tab, you can only see that you have a map; you have to open the map on the Heads-up Display to see whether the map is common or rare, and which of the five levels it is. These maps typically contain mice in a variety of locations. Hunters can invite up to 4 friends to help catch the mice for these maps.

Easy Treasure Map

These maps contain 15 mice.

Medium Treasure Map

These maps contain 20 mice.

Hard Treasure Map

These maps contain 25 mice.

Elaborate Treasure Map

These maps contain 30 mice.

Arduous Treasure Map

These maps contain 35 mice.

Living Garden Treasure Maps

These maps contain 30 mice that can only be found in Living Garden, Lost City, Sand Dunes, Twisted Garden, Cursed City and Sand Crypts. Hunters can invite up to 4 friends to help catch the mice for these maps.

Completing the map will reward each hunter with a Living Garden Treasure Chest.

Wanted Poster

These posters contain mice that can only be found in Claw Shot City, including Crew and Ringleader subsets that can be found only when the Wanted Poster is opened. Hunters can invite one friend to help catch the mice for these posters.

Event Treasure Maps

There is one currently known event treasure map.

Halloween Treasure Map

Catching the mice listed on this spooky map will drop clues which when combined will show you where to find an incredible Halloween Treasure Chest! These maps contain 10 of the mice in the Haunted Terrortories, except for the Trick, Treat and Swamp Thang mice. Similar to regular maps, you must open the map in the heads-up-display to learn if it is common or rare.

Maps started before the end of the Halloween 2012 event remained available for completion after the event (of course, hunters with an event mouse remaining on the map would have to wait for the event to return in an year). Meanwhile, if a hunter owned a Hallowe'en Scroll Case at the conclusion of the event, then the following message was displayed in the Hunter's Journal as the item converted to a regular Treasure Map Scroll Case:

Without the magic of Hallowe'en to sustain them, your Hallowe'en Scroll Cases have turned back into Treasure Map Scroll Cases.
