Lunar New Year 2021

Overview

During the Lunar New Year 2021, Hunters can encounter mice in Stockpile locations throughout the Kingdom that drop Dumpling Cheese. Dumpling Cheese can be armed in those same Stockpile locations to attract Lunar New Year Mice.

Acquiring a Ox Lunar Lantern and either Lunar Lantern Candles or Red Lunar Lantern Candles will allow Hunters to obtain a luck and loot bonus throughout the Kingdom.

Lunar New Year Charms have no special attraction effects during this event.

Hunters can track their progress with the event through the Heads-Up Display.

It tracks the following items:

When armed in a non-stockpile location, the following warning appears:

Mousing over the Dumpling Cheese image will bring up a text bubble with Dumpling Cheese attracts Lunar New Year Mice at Stockpile Locations!

Stockpiles of Dumpling Cheese

Stockpiles of Dumpling Cheese can be found in 12 locations within the Kingdom.
Hunt with the cheeses that attract the mice normally found in these locations to obtain Dumpling Cheese as loot.
Hunting with Dumpling Cheese in Stockpile locations is the only way to attract the Lunar New Year Mice and may improve the attraction rate of some of the rarer mice in these locations.

Dumpling Cheese will not attract mice outside of the stockpile locations.

Lunar Lantern and Candles

Hunters must capture the Costumed Ox Mouse to acquire the Ox Lunar Lantern. The Ox Lunar Lantern is powered by either Lunar Lantern Candles which are dropped by hunting with Dumpling Cheese in any of the 12 stockpile locations or Red Lunar Lantern Candles which are dropped from the Lunar Red Candle Maker Mouse by hunting with Nian Gao'da Cheese in any of the 12 stockpile locations.

Luck Boost

Activating the Ox Lunar Lantern will consume 1 candle with each hunt. Every 10 candles burned will add +1 luck to the Luck Boost effect of the lantern while it is active. The maximum possible luck boost is +50.

This luck boost will be effective throughout the Kingdom, but only while the Ox Lunar Lantern is active.

Loot Doubling and Tripling

Activating the Ox Lunar Lantern will provide a loot doubling effect throughout the Kingdom.

Almost any item that appears as loot in the journal entry for the captured mouse will be doubled. Any items that show up in a separate journal entry will not be doubled.

Lunar Lantern Candles
Map Pieces
Treasure Map Clues
A mouse's gold or points
Items added by bases, charms or auras (unless the items appear in the mouse's journal entry)

Lunar New Year Mice

These are the Lunar New Year event mice that may be encountered in stockpile locations during the Lunar New Year 2021 event.

Costumed Mice

Arming Dumpling Cheese will add the Calligraphy, Dumpling Chef, and Red Envelope mice to the mouse population, but, initially, the costumed mice must be caught in order.
The Costumed Tiger is the first mouse made available.

Capturing the Costumed Tiger will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Rabbit.

Capturing the Costumed Rabbit will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Dragon.

Capturing the Costumed Dragon will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Snake.

Capturing the Costumed Snake will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Horse.

Capturing the Costumed Horse will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Sheep.

Capturing the Costumed Sheep will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Monkey.

Capturing the Costumed Monkey will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Rooster.

Capturing the Costumed Rooster will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Dog.

Capturing the Costumed Dog will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Pig.

Capturing the Costumed Pig will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Rat.

Capturing the Costumed Rat will remove it from the mouse population and add the Costumed Ox.

Capturing the Costumed Ox allows all the costumed mice to appear in stockpile locations at the same time.

Cheese Preference and Loot

Dumpling Cheese or Nian Gao'da Cheese is required to attract event mice in stockpile locations. Nian Gao'da Cheese is required to attract the Lunar Red Candle Maker in stockpile locations.
