Potions
A potion is a form of loot dropped by mice. By using these potions in your inventory, you can convert cheese into more valuable cheese with better attraction rates or, more likely, special cheese, used for specific regions or mice. Conversion rate with respect to the quantities of cheese used to cheese generated is always 1:1 (the amount of cheese used is the same as the amount of the more valuable or special cheese produced). Using a potion may use up gold in the process. Using higher quality cheese generally will decrease the cost of conversion and increase the quantity converted. The hunter's title also affects the amount of cheese converted for some potions.
Suggested Strategies
Source cheese selection
For most conversions (exceptions being Brie and Greater Brie potions), it is not possible to accurately say which method is the most cost-effective.
- When potions are relatively scarce (such as Radioactive Blue Potions), the opportunity cost of finding far fewer potions makes the higher quality cheese the better investment for many people despite the relatively high market cost. However, the "best choice" is ultimately determined by each hunter's personal preference and priorities.
- Some potions (such as Ancient Potion and Runic Potion) produce cheese that can also be crafted at a lower cost than the conversion. In this case, the hunter will need to make the choice between crafting and using potions based on the availability of the crafting ingredients versus the availability of the potions, again keeping in mind opportunity cost.
- Since the cheese used in the conversion process of Brie Potion and Greater Brie Potion can all be bought, the only factor in which cheese to use for conversion should be the the total profit calculated based on value of converted Brie minus the vendor cost of the cheese used. For converting Brie Potions, the best choice is using Swiss. For Greater Brie Potions, the best choice is using Marble.
How many to convert
If the conversion process requires gold or the hunter's title affects the amount of cheese generated, a suggested strategy is not converting all the potions at once. Instead the hunter may wish to convert just enough for the current hunting period, and bring along a supply of the cheese to be converted later, as the hunter earns more gold or reaches the next rank and can gain from the better conversion rates.
Insufficient cheese for conversion
Hunters are cautioned that they will be able to carry out a conversion even if they do not have enough cheese to fully utilize the potion.
Using a Radioactive Blue Cheese Potion for example, if a Grandmaster only has 15 SUPER|brie+ on hand, he will be able to convert that 15 SUPER|brie+ into 15 Radioactive Blue cheese. However this results in a loss of 20 potential Radioactive Blue cheese (from a maximum possible of 35), and is a waste considering the difficulty in obtaining potions. Thus converting potions when short of the source cheese is not recommended.

Gauntlet Potions
Gauntlet Potions are dropped by mice in the King's Gauntlet. Imbuing ordinary cheese with these potions results in Gauntlet Cheeses. At each level of the Gauntlet, mice drop potions that create cheese capable of catching mice at the next level of the Gauntlet. For example, tier 2 mice drop Gauntlet Potion Tier 3 used to create Gauntlet Cheese Tier 3 that attracts tier 3 mice. Thus, collecting potions is key to progressing through the Gauntlet.

Tower Amplifier
The Tower Amplifier is a game element that is first found upon traveling to the Seasonal Garden and is also used in the Zugzwang's Tower. In the Seasonal Garden the amplifier is charged, and then in the Zugzwang's Tower affects the power and luck of the hunter's trap, giving a bonus when fully charged, or decreasing them as it's being depleted.
Charging or Depleting
In the Seasonal Garden, the percentage of the Tower Amplifier increases by a different percentage depending on the mouse caught. The more the mouse is worth in points, the more the percentage gained will be, as seen in the Seasonal Garden Mice table.
Upon moving to Zugzwang's Tower, the Tower Amplifier decreases for every successful catch, with percentages following the points used in chess, as seen in the Zugzwang's Tower Mice table.
In both locations, failing to attract a mouse will decrease the Tower Amplifier's percentage by 3%. Failing to catch a mouse will not affect the Tower Amplifier.
Moving out of Zugzwang's Tower will reset the percentage to 0%. Traveling out of the Seasonal Garden will not affect the Tower Amplifier's percentage.
Maximum Charge Percentages
The maximum percentage of the Tower Amplifier increases with the hunter's rank.
- Lord/Lady: 150%
- Baron/Baroness: 160%
- Count/Countess: 175%

Common Questions
To update FAQ. Suggestions.
- I'm thinking of adding a Travel section or something along those lines to answer: How do I get to Tier 2 of King's Gauntlet? I have a Keeper's Candle(Balack's Lantern), why can't I travel to Forbidden Grove(Balack's Cove)? How do I travel to Acolyte Realm?
- "Is x temporary or permanent" - guaranteed to be out of date soon, but I think it's a good idea anyway.
- "Can acolyte be caught with acronym?" good one, I'll be sure to include it.
- "Where to farm scrap metals?" good question, will fit nicely in the Loot section.
- Gorgon vs. Clock vs. BG -- ah, well I don't know the answer to that one yet. Obviously NOT BG. Gorgon is too new... but I'll keep it in mind when the forum consensus arises, or when there's a MH Analytics article etc.
- "When did the Nibbler go away?" sounds good.
- What are the givable items?
- Best place to farm gold/points crops up very often. And it would be different answer per rank.
