Hunter's Titles are indicators of experience and seniority in MouseHunt. Rank is based on the quality and quantity of mice caught. As hunters catch more mice, they become more experienced. More experienced hunters gain access to new areas (though occasionally they must collect the proper Maps and Keys) and become more effective at crafting and using potions.

* In-game count excludes the event location, and does not distinguish between normal and twisted reality. Also, the in-game count reflects the current restriction on Toxic Spill, which is variable rank.
Title Advancement
The title progress bar increases through trap checks and going on hunts. The higher a hunter's title, the longer it takes to advance to the next title for the same mice caught. Every hunt gives some base progress, which varies depending on whether it is an active hunt (own horn) or passive hunt (trap check or friend's horn). The same progress is always made when a mouse is not caught — that is, some progress is made even if a mouse is not attracted or when one steals points or cheese. If one catches a mouse, additional progress is made based on the breed of mouse caught. This progress is not perfectly correlated to the points of the mouse, though. For example, the same chess piece from opposing sides of Wizard's Pieces have different points but award practically the same rank advancement upon capture.
Opening a Tome of Wisdom also contributes to title advancement, but not the bonus points earned through Lab Research, Acolyte Relics etc.
Upon reaching the next title, a message will appear on the Hunter's Journal notifying the hunter on the new title. Hunters will also receive rewards depending on the title attained. In addition, hunters can also share 1 King's Credit each with 3 friends by publishing it to their news feed.

History and Trivia
- Before 30 June 2010, the Recruit and Initiate titles did not exist. The old "Novice" was split into Novice and Recruit, and the old "Apprentice" was split into Apprentice and Initiate.
- Previously, the ranks of Lady, Baroness, and Countess had a pink outline instead of the blue outline of their male and unidentified gender equivalents. In all other ways, these shields were the same.
- Duchess was originally spelled as Dutchess. The devs changed this on 12 October 2010, only a few hours after the title was introduced.
- Grand Duchess was originally spelled as Grand Dutchess. It was changed on 5 July 2011, approximately ten days after the title was received.
