Notes: I'm usually just fiddling around on this page with some ideas to see how they look like or work. Usually don't end up using them, but if you actually find them useful, feel free grab it and modify. Just drop me a note to let me know you're doing so :)

Editor's Corner

Welcome to the Editor's Corner. The Editor's Corner contains the basic information that any user wishing to edit the MH Wiki should know, along with a few other pages that editors use to organize their work.

Basic Editing Tips

The basic editing tips are meant for the casual editor who plans on adding some information to the MH Wiki. Following these guidelines will ensure that your contribution will require little or no touch-up.

  1. Before editing, check that your information is factual. Theories and unverified information should never be on the wiki.
  2. You can start editing an article by clicking on the edit link in each section, or by clicking on the edit tab on the top of the page.
  3. After finishing the edit, do not click save yet. First make sure you check your edit visually using the "Show preview" button.
  4. If you are lost in your own edit, you can click on the "Show changes" button to see the work you have done.
  5. Make sure to include an edit Summary of the work you have done. It is the textbox located above the buttons. This will provide other editors with info on the work done, and helps keep the page history organized.
  6. Tick the minor edit box if the information you have added is trivial/minor.
  7. After going through the steps 3 to 6, should you proceed with a save.

Things you should not do

The following lists some basic things that you should not be adding or doing on the MH Wiki.

  • Inserting false information, will likely lead to a month long ban. Serious offenders have been known to be permanently banned from the wiki.

Buy exciting traps and delicious cheese with this!

Gold is the currency of MouseHunt. It is earned by catching mice and, to a lesser extent, accepting rewards from the King. It can also be obtained through loot drops such as a Satchel of Gold, bonus drops from arming Wealth Charms and other related charms, or by returning surplus cheese, traps, and crafting materials for a refund at the respective shops. All hunters also receive an hourly wage of 50 gold from the King.

Gold can be exchanged for traps, cheese, crafting materials, marketplace items, traveling, repairing maps at the Cartographer, and raffle tickets. When transferring gold via the Give To Friends option, the King charges a 10% tariff.

In some Locations, failure to catch a mouse can sometimes result in the mouse stealing extra gold from the hunter. However, if a hunter has less gold on hand than what a particular breed of mouse typically steals, then failure to catch that mouse will not result in a loss of gold.

If the hunter has an extremely low amount of gold, the following message is displayed:

You are stricken with poverty!
The King pays all his active hunters a wage of 50 gold an hour, so fear not if you do not have enough to purchase bait.

Satchel of Gold

The gold contained in this satchel is instantly awarded to the hunter upon being collected. This item does not appear in a hunter's inventory.

Satchels of Gold are dropped by mice as follows:

Satchels of Gold can also be found as follows:

Wealth Charms

Wealth Charms, Rift Wealth Charms, Super Wealth Charms, Extreme Wealth Charms, and Ultimate Wealth Charms cause mice to drop a percentage of their gold value as a bonus, with a fixed cap to how much additional gold can be produced. Both the percentage and the cap are based on the charm used. Rift Wealth Charms are also part of the Riftwalker Set.

Charm Gold Value Percentage Gold Bonus Cap
Wealth Charm 5% 1,800
Rift Wealth Charm
Super Wealth Charm 10% 4,500
Extreme Wealth Charm 20% 15,000
Ultimate Wealth Charm 40% 50,000

  • Does not take into account trap power, just power type.
  • Due to prevalence of Dwarf, Ninja, Pirate, Tactical traps can be used in many locations. Again, as these mice are usually only 1 out of many other mice, in most locations it is fine to use a Shadow or Arcane trap.
