Climb this massive, towering beanstalk to reach the impressive, lucrative, and dangerous Castle in the Clouds! |
Overview
Bountiful Beanstalk is a hunting location in the Folklore Forest region.
Hunters require a minimum Rank of Viceroy and the Tale of the Bountiful Beanstalk to access.
Hunters start off by looting Magic Beans on the Beanstalk to purchase Beanster Cheese. After catching Vinneus Stalkhome and looting 1 Fabled Fertilizer, Hunters can plant a vine up the beanstalk to enter The Castle in the Clouds.
There are 3 floors within the Castle, the Dungeon Floor, the Ballroom Floor, and the Great Hall Floor, each of which contain rooms that provide different primary loots.
Hunters are able to primarily loot Magic Beans and Lavish Lapis Beans in the Dungeon Floor, Royal Ruby Beans and Golden Harp Strings in the Ballroom Floor, and Golden Goose Eggs in the Great Hall Floor.
Hunters are able to collect Fabled Fertilizers from multiple Vinneus Stalkhome catches, and Giants at the end of each Castle floor.
Golden Harp Strings, Magic Beans, Lavish Lapis Beans, and Royal Ruby Beans earned within the rooms can be used to purchase different type of cheese in Bountiful Beanstalk.
Fabled Fertilizers earned can be used to plant vines to the Dungeon Floor, Ballroom Floor, or Great Hall Floor.
Gameplay Mechanics
The Bountiful Beanstalk has 2 sub-areas: the Beanstalk and the Castle in the Clouds.
The Beanstalk
The Beanstalk is separated into endless zones which are each 20 hunts long.
There are 4 possible type of zones: Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate.
The type of zone determines how many Magic Beans are looted per catch.
Using Condensed Creativity doubles the Magic Beans looted.
Zone | Loot Multiplier | Burning Condensed Creativity |
---|---|---|
Standard Zone | x1 | x2 |
Super Zone | x2 | x4 |
Extreme Zone | x4 | x8 |
Ultimate Zone | x8 | x16 |
At the end of each zone (the 20th hunt), the Hunter encounters the Vinneus Stalkhome until it is defeated.
Defeating Vinneus Stalkhome will reward one Fabled Fertilizer and the Hunter will enter a new zone.
Using Fabled Fertilizer, the Hunter can plant a Vine at any point of time to enter a floor within the Castle in the Clouds.
Do note that this will erase any progress made within a zone in the Beanstalk.
When the Hunter returns from the Castle in the Clouds, they will be placed at the start of a new zone.
This new zone may or may not be the same one which the Hunter was in prior to planting the Vine.
The Castle in the Clouds
Floors
There are 3 floors in the Castle in the Clouds, the Dungeon Floor, the Ballroom Floor, and the Great Hall Floor.
To enter any type of Floor, a Vine must be planted whilst hunting in the Beanstalk area.
The progress within a zone on the Beanstalk has no influence within the Castle in the Clouds.
Each floor consists of one or more rooms, with each room being 20 hunts long (barring any use of Leaping Lavish Beanster Cheese).
The current room can be seen in the center of the HUD.
The next room can be seen on the right-hand side of the HUD.
Rooms are characterised by their type and quality (the type and quality of any room is random):
- 6 different types (This affects the type of loot dropped by the mice):
- Magic Bean
- Lavish Lapis Bean
- Royal Ruby Bean
- Golden Harp String
- Golden Goose Egg
- Mystery - loot is any of the 5 listed above
- 4 different qualities (This affects the Loot Multiplier):
- Standard
- Super
- Extreme
- Ultimate
While hunting within any room, the Hunter builds up Noise as shown in the Noise Meter each hunt.
At the end of a room, if the Hunter has maxed out the Noise Meter, the Giant will awake and initiate a Giant Chase.
A Giant Chase is 20 hunts long.
At the end of the Giant Chase (the 20th hunt), the Hunter encounters the Giant until it is defeated.
Defeating the Giant will reward Fabled Fertilizers and send the Hunter back to the Beanstalk.
Floor | Vine | Fabled Fertilizer required for Vine |
Possible room types | Max Noise | Giant | Fabled Fertilizer looted from Giant |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dungeon Floor | Short | 1 | Lavish Lapis Bean Room Magic Bean Room Mystery Room |

Ballroom Floor | Medium | 12 | Royal Ruby Bean Room Golden Harp String Room Mystery Room |
400 | Malevolent Maestro | 20 |
Great Hall Floor | Tall | 100 | Golden Goose Egg Room | 300 | Mythical Giant King | 0 - 30 (in multiples of 5) |

- Can be obtained as loot from any Giant
- Golden Goose Feather

- Ruby Room Remover
- Removes all Royal Ruby Bean Rooms from the Ballroom Floor

- Costs 2500 Royal Ruby Bean
Noise Meter and Loot Multiplier
Within a room, how much Noise a Hunter builds up each hunt is dependent on the Loot Multiplier.
The Loot Multiplier in the HUD shows how much Noise will be made per catch.
Failing to catch or attract a mouse also adds to the Noise Meter.
The Hunter may hover their cursor over the Noise Meter in the HUD to see the amount of Noise for a failed catch (or attract).
The Loot Multiplier is determined by the following factors:
- The following factors are applied regardless of whether a mouse is caught or not:
- The quality of the room: Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate
- Loot Multiplier as per table below
- Whether the Hunter has the Golden Goose Feather embellishment
- x2 Loot Multiplier or x4 Loot Multiplier with a Golden Quill
- The Cheese armed: Leaping Lavish Beanster
- Loot Multiplier as per table below
- The quality of the room: Standard, Super, Extreme, or Ultimate
- The following factors are applied only during a successful catch:
- The Cheese armed: Standard, Beanster, Lavish Beanster, or Royal Beanster
- Loot Multiplier as per table below
- Whether the Hunter has Condensed Creativity enabled
- x2 Loot Multiplier
- Note: extra loot as a result of Condensed Creativity is not dropped by the mice directly but in a separate journal entry
- Whether the Hunter is in a Giant Chase
- x2 Loot Multiplier
- The Cheese armed: Standard, Beanster, Lavish Beanster, or Royal Beanster
Note: the following table does not account for bonuses as a result of Condensed Creativity, the Golden Goose Feather embellishment, or Giant Chase.
Room Quality | Standard Cheese | Beanster Cheese | (Leaping) Lavish Beanster Cheese | Royal Beanster Cheese |
---|---|---|---|---|
Standard Room | x1 | x2 | x4 | x16 |
Super Room | x2 | x4 | x8 | x32 |
Extreme Room | x4 | x8 | x16 | x64 |
Ultimate Room | x8 | x16 | x32 | x128 |
Harp and the Auto-Harp
At any point within the room, Golden Harp Strings can be used to increase or decrease the Noise level.
1 Golden Harp String increases or decreases the Noise level by 1.
Golden Harp Strings can no longer be used to increase or decrease Noise once the Hunter is in a Giant Chase.
The Auto-Harp is a feature that can be enabled and disabled.
The Auto-Harp automatically consumes Golden Harp Strings to cancel out the Noise the Hunter makes every hunt, thus maintaining the current Noise level.
If the Hunter has less Golden Harp Strings than the Noise that would be made on a hunt, the Auto-Harp will still cancel out Noise equivalent to the number of Golden Harp Strings.
The Auto-Harp will automatically turn itself off when the Hunter runs out of Golden Harp Strings.
Likewise, the Auto-Harp can no longer be used once the Hunter is in a Giant Chase.

Hunting Strategy
Hunting Tips by Larry
I'm so glad you're here, hunter! Just looking at this place gives me vertigo!
The King's scholars have successfully written you into this story so now it's up to you to pen a favourable outcome.
Start climbing the beanstalk to loot Magic Beans. The beanstalk is separated into "zones" which are each 20 hunts long and the type of zone you're in will determine how many beans each mouse drops. At the end of each zone, you'll have to catch the infamous Vinneus Stalkhome before you can move onto the next one.
Vinneus has been guarding more than just the zones, she also guards the coveted Fabled Fertilizer. Once you get your hands on some of this wondrous, enchanted clay, you'll be able to plant a vine that will take you straight up to that intimidating Castle in the Clouds!
Rumour has it, that castle is full of valuable loot that the giants have been hoarding. Make sure to craft yourself some Beanster cheese before heading up there because the mice who favour it will drop twice as much loot!
Once inside, you'll need to navigate through a series of rooms that are not too different from the zones on the beanstalk. The mice in each room will drop a different item based on the room's type and a quantity based on the room's quality. Super rooms will have twice as much loot as Standard rooms, Extreme will have twice as much as Super, and so on.
Beware though, each piece of loot that you collect will make noise that will eventually awaken the giant. Once the giant is awake, it will chase you out of the castle and you'll have to defeat it in order to escape!
Make your way up to the Great Hall in order to face off against the big guy himself! Just make sure you're well prepared before setting foot in there!
Good luck up there, hunter!
