The Monolith Base is a base that focuses on power alone, ignoring other stats. Its higher power bonus compared to that of the Explosive Base may offset its lower attraction bonus.

Mice become brutal and vicious in the presence of the Monolith Base, reverting to a feral state. Hunters, too, feel its pull as a sense of overwhelming dread. The ominous feel of this base comes from the fact that this base was found perfectly formed from the lost elemental material Ohnoesium. This extremely rare ore can only be found in small, hard-to-reach deposits deep beneath the earth at Digby, although most hunters who have come into contact with Ohnoesium ore agree that it should probably stay in the ground.

The Monolith Base is available only as loot dropped by the Big Bad Burroughs Mouse. It is not sold by any Trapsmith and is thus non-refundable.

History and Trivia

• The Monolith Base was introduced on 24 March 2010 when the Big Bad Burroughs Mouse began to drop it as loot during the MouseHunt Birthday II event.
• When the Cryst-HAL Tower Skin was released on Facebook on 5 September 2014, it was shown atop a Monolith base, as a reference to the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.
