Dive into the depths of the Rodentia Ocean and explore this ancient underwater city! Great treasures await adventurous hunters who journey into the deep waters! |
Overview
The Sunken City is a location in the Rodentia region requiring a minimum rank of Count/Countess and the Sunken Souvenir to enter. Mice in this location may steal points, gold, or multiple pieces of cheese if not captured.
The Sunken Souvenir can be purchased from the Muridae Market Cartographer for 228,000 gold and 90 Molten Glass.
To begin hunting in the Sunken City, Hunters must gather Oxygen Canisters from mice encountered while Docked. Hunters will need a minimum of 10 Oxygen Canisters to Dive and the more Oxygen Canisters Hunters have, the longer they will be able to stay submerged. While on a Dive Hunters can gather the ingredients necessary for crafting Fishy Fromage. Fishy Fromage will only attract mice while Docked and allows the attraction of mice that drop greater numbers of Oxygen Canisters.
The Sunken City mice are all a part of the Deep Sea Dwellers group and are divided into seven subgroups: Barnacled Bunch, Coral Corral, Finned Friends, Predator Pack, Scale Society, Sunken City Citizens, and Treasure Troop. Sunken City mice are weak only to Hydro weapons.
Hunters may leave the Sunken City without losing progress on a Dive.
Docked
Initially, the Hunter's submerging sea shuttle is Docked. While Docked, Hunters can use Standard Cheese or Fishy Fromage to hunt the Sunken City Citizens mice that drop Oxygen Canisters as loot.

- The button to start a Dive
- When starting a dive, the following message appears in the Hunter's Journal:
- I equipped my diving gear and submerged myself into the depths of the ocean surrounding the Sunken City.
- When starting a dive, the following message appears in the Hunter's Journal:
Dive
To Dive, Hunters must spend 10 Oxygen Canisters and will need more to stay submerged. While Diving, each hunt will consume one Oxygen Canister. A hunter can leave the Sunken City area without losing Dive progress. Oxygen Canisters are not consumed while Hunters are away from the Sunken City. Hunters are returned to the Docked zone when they run out of Oxygen Canisters. Hunters can also end a Dive by selecting the Return option from the HUD. Ending a Dive will not cost the Hunter any Oxygen Canisters.
A dive can last indefinitely. During a dive, a catch normally gives 30 meters of progress, but this is changed to 10 meters if an Empowered Anchor, Spiked Anchor or Golden Anchor Charm is armed, and to 500 meters if a Water Jet or Smart Water Jet Charm is armed. Failure to catch gives 10 meters of progress, and failure to attract has no progress. The Scoreboard tracks a hunter's furthest dive, mice caught in one dive, and overall use of Oxygen and Water Jets.
Each dive has a random selection of zones, with each zone occupying a multiple of 250 meters. The possible zones are chosen according to distance; the first group of zones are found up to 2,000 meters, the second from 2,000 to 10,000, the third after passing 10,000 meters. There are four bonus zones that don't appear to follow the same breakdown by distance.
HUD
- The Heads-Up Display shows progress in the area. In both Docked and Dive states, During a Dive, the right side has a button to return early from the dive as well as progress meter of current exploration distance. The center of the display shows images of upcoming zones. Additionally, a hunter can click on the submarine in the display to open up the Sonar Periscope display, with an overview of the upcoming zones ranging from 1250 meters to 1750 meters, even if they extend beyond the current width of the Heads Up Display.
- After each zone is completed, this message appears in the Hunter's journal:
- I finished exploring a XXX!
- Upon running out of oxygen, a final message appears in the Hunter's journal:
- Having run out of Oxygen Canisters, I returned to the Sunken City to stock up on more after traveling XX meters.
- During this dive, I visited XXX.
- Having run out of Oxygen Canisters, I returned to the Sunken City to stock up on more after traveling XX meters.
- Upon using the Return button, the following message appears in the Hunter's journal:
- I returned to the Sunken City after traveling XX meters!
- During this dive, I visited XXX.
- I returned to the Sunken City after traveling XX meters!

Mice -- Docked
The Sunken City mice are all a part of the Deep Sea Dwellers group and are divided into seven subgroups: Barnacled Bunch, Coral Corral, Finned Friends, Predator Pack, Scale Society, Sunken City Citizens, and Treasure Troop.
The Sunken City Citizens are present in the Sunken City only when the Hunter's submerging sea shuttle is Docked. All Sunken City Citizens drop Oxygen Canisters as loot. Hunting with Standard Cheeses attracts only a few mice with few Oxygen Canisters. Fishy Fromage, which a Hunter can craft or purchase after their first Dive for Barnacles, Damaged Coral Fragments, and Mouse Scales, attracts all the Sunken City Citizens and greatly increases the availability of Oxygen Canisters as loot.

Mice -- Diving
The Barnacled Bunch, Coral Corral, Finned Friends, Predator Pack, Scale Society, and Treasure Troop groups of mice are only available in the Sunken City when a Hunter Dives in their submerging sea shuttle. These mice drop a variety of loot necessary for crafting and making purchases in the Sunken City shoppes. The greater the depth of the Dive a Hunter makes, the more loot the Hunter will encounter. Many mice are not available at depths less than 10,000 meters, so gathering a larger quantity of Oxygen Canisters while Docked will be necessary. Mice in these groups have no particular preference for any kind of cheese. Fishy Fromage is unattractive to these mice and should be reserved for hunting the Sunken City Citizens while Docked.
Barnacled Bunch
The Barnacled Bunch can only be found in the Sunken City when the Hunter uses their submerging sea shuttle to Dive. Mice in this group drop Barnacles as loot.

Hunting Strategy
Adventure Book
Hunters can Explore the Sunken City by catching a Tritus Mouse while on a Dive in the Sunken City.
Hunting tips by Larry
Welcome to the Sunken City! A civilization lost long ago to the depths of the ocean. Now, overrun with mice, they have taken over and restored functionality to use as a secret base of underwater operations. Using advanced submarine science, it looks like they have been trying to recruit the aquatic mice and gather underwater resources.
The King needs you to use one of these submerging sea shuttles and explore the deep sea to see how far the reach of the Sunken City goes and to stop those mice waiting to strike from the sea!
Before you can begin a dive, you'll need to collect some Oxygen Canisters by hunting in the city. Once you have some Oxygen Canisters saved up, begin a dive! While exploring the ocean floor you'll find ingredients to craft the valuable Fishy Fromage: a bait the mice in the Sunken City find especially tempting!
The ahem, "unique" smell of Fishy Fromage can't quite stink while underwater, so avoid arming any while diving. Instead, use it at the Sunken City where you'll attract a greater number of mice that drop oxygen! If you manage your resources well, you may find that you're better able to resupply yourself after each dive, so dive early, and dive often!
The further away from the city you get, the more valuable treasures you're likely to find. However, far away from the city are also where the most powerful predators lay, so be careful!
