The mice that live in this garden use the environment to their advantage, fashioning crude armour and weapons from plantlife in order to protect and hoard all the Garden Essences they can find.

Overview

Living Garden is a hunting location in Sandtail Desert region.

Living Garden, Lost City, Sand Dunes, Twisted Garden, Cursed City, and Sand Crypts are 6 connected hunting locations, forming the Living Garden complex.

They require the minimum rank of Baron/Baroness and the Living Garden Key to access.

Living Garden can only be traveled to when the Hunter's map is in Normal state.

Normal World and Twisted World

At a time, among 6 hunting locations in the Living Garden complex, only 3 can be traveled to. This depends on whether the Hunter's map is in Normal or Twisted state:

Doing so will generate a journal entry:
On catching Carmine the Apothecary, a light flashes and a spell she had prepared in advance erupts! Nightmarish tendrils of dark smoke burst from the ground around me, and before I knew it the world had changed before my very eyes into a wild and twisted version of itself.
I can feel this world itself attempting to reject me and send me back, but I must stay as long as I am able to find out what Carmine is doing in this hidden, dark place.

The map state can be changed from Twisted to Normal by either:

Doing any of the actions above will generate a journal entry:
Almost as if an illusion suddenly shattered, the world around me snaps back to normal. Using X Cheese has brought me back to the normal world.

The Living Garden Sequence

In the Living Garden complex, the Hunter follows 6 main steps in sequence.
Step 1 and 3 can be done in Living Garden.

Finishing collecting 20 Dewdrops generates a journal entry:

I've filled up on Dewdrops. Time to pour them out and start attracting Thirsty Mice!

Pouring generates a journal entry:

I poured out my collected Dewdrops, and started attracting some thirsty mice for the next X hunts!
I should unequip my Sponge Charms and save them for later.

When the hunts run out and state switches back from Poured to normal, a journal entry is generated:

With the ground now dry, the Thirsty mice have retreated.

Heads-Up Display

The Hunter can access and track the following in the HUD:

  • Dewdrop Minigame
    • The number of Dewdrop is displayed.
    • There is a Pour button, which the Hunter can click to switch state to Poured.
Clicking it will pop out a confirmation message:
Are you sure you want to pour out your collected Dewdrops?
If you do, you'll attract some very thirsty mice for X hunt!
Click Cancel to cancel
Click Confirm to switch state

Mice

All mice found in Living Garden are part of the Living Garden Mice group.

Only Hydro power type is effective against the mice here.

Standard Cheese can attract all mice except Carmine the Apothecary which requires Duskshade Camembert. Thirsty Mouse can only be attracted in Poured state.

Most mice here can drop Dewthief Petal which can be used to purchase Dewthief Camembert to hunt in Lost City and Sand Dunes.

Catching Carmine the Apothecary will transfer the Hunter to Twisted Garden and enable traveling to Cursed City and Sand Crypts.
